I've never, never, ever, ever seen Valdez look this good. Ridiculous performance from him and really cements Eddy Reynoso as one of the very best in the business
The sad thing is that he really is incredibly talented, and you see the growth over time. He constantly getting better and adding things every fight. But he's at the point in his career that every fight has to be a legitimate fighter. He's at the level that there are no excuses for fighting these awful fighters. And I can never forgive the ped use, in boxing and mma that immediately takes you off the all time great lists.
that entire card on sat was ****ing terrible. canelo holds some of the blame but most of it goes to the wbc and every other organization that gifts anyone a belt and forces these shitty mandatory fights. how can a dude that hasnt fought in 2yrs be your number one contender? one of the many reasons why boxing is in such a decline. the only positive i can find is that dazn is only 20 bucks lol the canelo v billy joe saunders has some potential. also, ortiz v hooker in a couple of weeks could be good.
When there are good fights, boxing can be magical. The problem with boxing is that those good fights are just too few and far in between, which is why it's in decline.
The Valdez knockout of Berchelt was awesome. Canelo looking like no one is in his class. When do we see Teofimo, Charlo, Berlanga, or Stevenson fight again?
andrade? charlo? ha I've mentioned that im not a big canelo fan but he has the best resume of this generation and it includes plenty of black fighters. this current gen of boxers is so trash. you got crawford straight up saying to forget the spence fight. andrade, charlo and every other fighter waiting for the canelo fight but refusing to fight each other. benavidez is begging for a fight but no one really wants it. at least the young guys like vergil ortiz, teofimo, and ennis all seem to want to fight
The Wardley-Molina fight was pretty fun as well, if Wardley gets less cocky/sloppy he can have a pretty good career due to his strength and natural instincts/head movement. The Cheeseman fight was quite a battle with the lead changing every minute and an insane last-second knockout as well, entertaining night.
I need Ben Askren to KO Jake Paul into the winamp years. Please for the love of god make that happen!
Despite being fat, old, and not a boxer, Frank Mir made it through all 6 rounds with an actual former boxer.
Ivan Redkach just pretended he got hit with a low blow so he could get out of a fight he was losing without it being a KO. the punch wasn't low and it didn't land, he should never catch another booking after that BS
