Good point LOL. Didn't realize how bad we are sans Wood/Gordon.

Although I think the for short to medium term, Simmons was definitely the better choice. But we aren't really going to compete anytime in the next couple seasons, so for the long-term stock piling tons of picks might turn out better 2024 and beyond. Not really a lot of value in finishing 8th/9th in the West and then having a mediocre pick or being forced to give it to OKC because of that horrendous CP3/Westbrook trade.

Let's just say for the sake of argument that the Lakers are one of the most competent-run organizations in sports.

When Kobe and Pau left, WHAT HAPPENED?

Are you saying that Brooklyn has a better chance to attract stars post KD/Harden/Kyrie, than LA? LA, who went in the tank for yearssssss before they landed Lebron?

"Brooklyn picks aren't valuable because Brooklyn management is competent now" - DEEZ NUTS.

Morey did try to do Morey things and he backed away from the trade but Tillman said give them everything they want for Westbrook.

    Morey is not a hypnotist.

Morey did not throw all of that out there he had told Harden the trade was probably dead and then Tillman intervened.

    Playoffs, you talking about playoffs?

Rockets cant even kick their own asses, how do you expect this squad to make the playoffs?

Its embarrassing when CF looks down their nose on players that carry their teams to the playoffs.

    Bottom out to:

    - get a player that can potentially be better than Simmons, who is....

    - on a rookie deal and likely under team control until the end of his 1st extension, compared to Simmons on a max and with an agency that wants their players in high profile places

    - get another top player by bottoming out next year

    - all the Nets picks and swaps

The trade with the BKN is the right choice. What I don't understand is why they trade Levert and Allen on a separate trade.

If the top pick this year winds up being better no one will be surprised.

So he is an expiring. That is kind of key.
A bit of a shame to hear he was offered an extension, very glad he turned it down!!

No I watch basketball and know when someone's on the court who can't shoot, the other team is automatically at a advantage. Especially in the playoffs. Of course you wouldn't know that, you just re-post other ppls opinions

Glad we didn't get Simmons. When playoffs and big games come, he will certainly cost his team games. They will simply back off him.

Why acquire player who you are already sure is going to be a problem in the playoffs? It's like acquiring a great player who shoots 50% at the line and doesn't want to practice.

Thybulle is a nice project but he will take time and offensive ceiling appears to be very low, possibly just a PJ Tucker with better defense. That's great but will take at least a year or two to achieve.

Would be hinged on the draft compensation and what we could get for Simmons immediately. Can't really judge without those details.

Hands down the Nets offer was the right decision. 2-3 years of peak Harden/KD and then the eventual decline will take place. Father Time is undefeated. We own their draft for SEVEN years!! guys get a grip.
