    it is what it is

Can you really expect anything different?

I’ll still be wearing my mask and avoiding large gatherings

one thing I’ve missed doing so much is hooping at the gym...haven’t played any ball since last March

Well, to be fair, the blame for the energy breakdowns actually belongs to Rick Perry and those Republicans who decided that Texas "didn't need no stinking Federal govt" regulating it's energy grid so they created ERCOT and setup their own electrical grid. Well Texans got what they voted for so they should be happy. Now I did see the Texas Republican House Negro aka Allen West put out a long snarky piece blaming the statewide power outage on Green Energy which I assume was what the Texas Republican party decided on to be its official lie/excuse/misdirection.

Exactly. Why risk another huge spike at this point? I’ve worn the damn mask for the past year, another couple of months is not a big deal. I’m guessing many cities and towns may continue with the mask requirement. I know many businesses will probably still require the mask.

Nobody is ripping the masks off of your faces folks, and businesses can still require masks to enter their building if they want. There has been enough of a timeline here where there is no clear or convincing proof that masks or lockdowns have any effect on the spread. It really has been nothing more than just guessing. That's why you have people like Fauci saying wear MORE masks. He wouldn't be saying that if mask wearing was proven effective. It's just more and more guessing.

The time is right to let people decide if they want to enter into a fully open business, or go out with a mask, or stay home. Choices. I made the choice to stay restrictive in my activities, on my own, until my high risk parents get fully vaccinated. They are almost there, and I will stay cautious until that time, I have that control. But continuing to restrict people's freedoms and right to earn a living in their businesses on the basis of glorified guesswork is lunacy.

People that shout "follow the science!" do very little of that. You can run the CLI numbers of MD, DC, VA and FL, and they all run the same, including Florida that has been maskless for 6 months.

ERCOT was formed in 1970, and Texas decided on their own independent grid back in the 1960's I believe.
