As of this morning, 3 decent sized fires in SoCal with a number of evacuations. All in brush/chapparal. These are typically wind and terrain driven and they were expecting winds today up to 20 mph, which is not bad. Haven't heard how things are progressing today.

We have sent 9 Hot Shot Crews from NM and AZ over there, with two more moving out this afternoon. Everyone else is staying put, as we could be hit any day now, particularly in AZ and southern NM.

It IS funny! Your (self-)vaunted psychological warfare is working! All you had to do was act like an idiot over and over again for a couple years and these poor guys fell for it and called you one. What a bunch of rookies!

Jorge, you haven't presented a challenge on this board in over a year, if that. And there's less than no point responding to your bizarre accusations (Hillary's a housewife??? Wha???) since you're a prototypical BBS whack-a-mole. Half the time you disappear when obviously bested, the other half of the time you declare victory in all caps (your favorite argument - MY LETTERS ARE BIGGER THAN YOURS - CASE CLOSED!!) when obviously trounced.

But while I generally enjoy and admire the posts of the guys above, in this case they're idiots too. I mean, for Yahweh's sake, how many licks does it take to get to the center of a troll? What a bunch of rookies...

Ok. For the 114th time, allow me to be the 32, 345th poster to commend you for your courage and endurance. I know I can be brave on the spot, but doubt I'd be able to repeatedly face mortal danger I knew about in advance without cracking up.

I know, I know, when you know what you're doing it's not dangerous. Allow me to maintain my ignorance and disagree. As Kevin Kline ( sort of ) said in the January Man: House catches fire. All sane people run out of the house. Firefighters run in. End of discussion."

I'd like to blame it on my fundamental belief in treating everyone with a certain level of respect combined with my desire for serious dialogue about serious issues, but at the end of the day, I suspect you've probably nailed it.

What gets me isn't that he actually drives away those who treated him with any respect or tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, nor that he can't win an argument with anyone with a modicum of intelligence yet keeps coming back, it's the sheer endurance he shows for a one-note performance. Sustaining that would be boring as hell not to mention a sign of possible mania ( no joke) if you did it for months. He's done it day in and day out for years.

    Boggles the mind.

Here's what you posted in another active thread.

Batman, I don't take him seriously.
Sometimes Trader_J's (or "_" as he is sometimes known) posts are useful for making a point, just because, well, they are there.

Thanks for the concern and the thoughts. However, I cannot, in good conscience, take credit for what your post implies. I'm not a front line kind of guy (too old, too fat) and only occasionally do I engage in stuff that is even close to what a Hot Shot or Smokejumper experience every incident. I certainly do all I can to avoid extended hours of hard physical labor, though I may get in a day-long hike here and there.

Most of my big fires are spent at the Command Post working on logistical or communication or community-related issues. Most of my small fires are spent doing the same thing from my office. Curiosly, it's the medium ones where I seem to get the most exposure to a mild level of danger (hiking off trail in steep country or walking the cold side of a fire for instance)... these are the ones that are burning in some wayward non-threatening place out in a park or forest, but need constant monitoring from a small organization where we have to pitch in and do things we wouldn't normally have to do on a fully-staffed incident.

Again, I'm not a primary firefighter, but merely a part of the fire organization.

Rush took time off from his 'torturing prisoners is really no different from a Brittney Spears video' riff to weigh in on this? Good to know they're covering all the angles there on neck radio.

By the way, I'd love to know who ceded credit to 'Clinton's military' for invading Iraq.

Didn't mean to give the impression that that was the sum total topic of your post, however this language.... "closing their eyes to any criticism of 'their guy' " made me want to point up the inadequacy of the criticisms being laid on GWB along the lines of the buck stops here.

Where, exactly, has anyone directly blamed Bush for these abuses. These abuses are a military issue and, despite being CinC, Bush is not responsible for what happened.

If he fails to get to the bottom of it and/or fails to correct the abuses, THEN he is responsible.

You are painting with a pretty big brush.

I saw this quoted in another post (or else I wouldn't see your ignored a$$) and figured that since you specifically named me that I would respond.

You are the one who is stopped cold in (his?) tracks. If you could come up with a lucid argument, nobody would call you stupid, an idiot, or a moron. If you actually injected *gasp* logic into your argument rather than the same tired rhetoric, one-liners, and all-caps declarations of victory, you wouldn't get treated like the shill we have all come to roll our eyes at.

As it is, you are the perfect argument for people moving over to the Democratic or independent side of things. You appear to be a sad, low intelligence caricature of Tom DeLay. You would be funny if your vitriol was not so horribly acerbic, but your attacks are a collection of lies, exaggerations, and unfounded claims that would never even make the pages of the National Review.

It is you who has let anger overcome you, based on the attacks you consistently level in this forum. I am happy that you are now on ignore as it is now possible for me to intelligently debate issues with THINKING conservatives. I am glad that there are some conservatives who have *OMG* common sense, logic, and the ability to read and analyze information, because you are devoid of all three traits.

By the way, go to www.dictionary.com to look up the words that are too big for you, rookie.

Ok...Bush's apology is coming up. I expect he'll demand answers, but what will be telling about hsi true motives here is this:
Will he completely overlook the Taguba report and emphasize the Bad Apple Defense?

If so, more of the same; his indignation taking at best second place to his political motivations.

So for those of you watching, watch closely. If he denies or ignores the findings of his own military on his own military, but instead tries to pin this on a few people 'not representative of the United States and our way of life', etc., you have your answer. What will be even more telling will be his responses to what I assume will be questions about the report. The same old " Let's wait until we know the facts" routine, presumably awaiting the findings of the investigation into...er....wait....

Trust me, having him on ignore is fabulous. This forum looks like it is filled with intelligent, thinking conservatives now.
