https://www.pff.com/news/draft-2021...wilson-trade-lsu-jamarr-chase-atlanta-falcons Interesting mock draft only because Texans receive Tua in the trade and then flip him for another first in addition to the 3 firsts they already have. Also interesting that I'm not too impressed with what they did with those picks.
Their heads have been so far up their own a*s they just don't see what everyone else sees. It's just mind blowing how some of folk in here support this ridiculousness.
In this scenario we receive Xavien Howard back, I just dont like/get the idea of taking players back who are not on their 2nd or at most 3rd years of their rookie deals over more draft capital. This team is so horrendously bad at every level and position, its going to be YEARS before we start to turn this thing around. All the value we get back for Deshaun needs to match that timeline. We dont need to be taking guys back who will be 30+ when we finally get back to being a .500 team
True, but I feel like draft picks are more liquid. Howard is already on a bigger contract that could eliminate some of your potential suitors for him just based on cap figures
McClain keeps mentioning the Jets and 4 1st rd picks+ Darnold for Deshaun. That’s quite a haul. No guarantee the Jets will be that good next year either. We will also likely be in the running for the #1 pick next year and slap on the 2 1sts from the jets next year, we could get a huge influx of talent pretty quickly.
If they go Samuel Jr over Surtain in this scenario that would be par for the course for this franchise wouldnt it? Wow. Same with Ojulari - he wouldnt even be the best edge on the board at that time - plus they better give Lovie Smith the cover LB he needs at Mike. Pretty crazy overall considering I like the way the cards fall. Im ok with Fields and trading off Tua, but how they use those picks in this draft is incompetent.
https://bearswire.usatoday.com/2021...3uEvYQQxgvdX0zr7OVtSmsCZPtXkTQAOg9GBAsm6hxfuo According to ESPN insider Jeff Darlington, it sounds like Chicago has a massive offer on the table for Watson. “It’s gonna be tough to find a team that’s willing to give up as much as the Bears will right now,” Darlington said, an indication that Chicago might be the highest bidders at this time.
The bears don't pick in the first round until 20, unless they're giving up four first, four second round picks + an all pro player and the jets, 49ers, falcons, broncos, panthers are not, that statement is misinformation
Sooner or later someone was going to do this. Simms seems pretty good ... obviously no one is perfect on these types of things. If you look at his pst years thoughts he’s usually better than most (eg liking Mahomes, Lamar, Josh Allen too bad it sounds like the Jets are being shy.
This is confusing. the situation with the Texans between when he agreed to the job and now hasn’t changed or at best is better. WITH Deshaun they have limited draft capital and a cap situation to rectify. if the trade Deshaun it might not work but it addresses one or maybe both of those situations. In either case he knew what he was signing up for. Fixing this problem is his actual job... so basically his “friend” is saying he doesn’t actually want to be a GM? Yeah I’ll choose to not believe this one.
Caserio knew the situation when it came to lack of draft picks and cap space, but he didn’t know Watson was going to ask for a trade. That didn’t happen until after he was hired.
