But you don't have to be delusional to imagine a scenario in which Kyrie finally goes completely off the rails and joins a cult and moves to their compound forsaking his career and all his worldly possessions or moves to Mars on Elon Musk's first expedition to space (mostly to prove the Earth is flat). And it's also not hard to imagine Durant suffering another possibly career ending injury. Or Harden opting to join Anthony Davis in his hometown of LA because Kyrie is on a compound and Durant is in the hospital. We can't predict the future. They have an incredible core. But they have to keep it healthy and in tact and that isn't guaranteed by any stretch of the imagination.
The Nets will be elite for atleast three more years. Hardens game will age well and he will have four more elite years . They can always build around him if KD goes down again. As for Dipo? His trade value is less then what we first got him. It’s sad but it’s the truth. At this point you either let him walk at seasons end or just get some garbage back. Pretty much traded harden for a few late firsts and garbage
And it’s the truth. Three or if not all of those picks will be in the mid to late twenties and obviously Dipos trade value is going down the toilet as we speak
One reason I feel this team is poorly coached is Oladipo. Morey’s team would crunch the numbers and they would show guys what they were super efficient or good at and the parts of their games where they may have thought they were good at, but were not and needed to eliminate. People saw it as limiting guys, but it was maximizing their strengths and minimizing their weaknesses. If my memory serves, Melo mentioned that at their locker, they had certain stats digitally displayed with this data. Where am I going with this? Dipo is terrible at pull up 3 pointers off the dribble; but he is really good at spot up 3 pointers. Why the hell does he dribble around and take so many pull up 3s when it’s a bad shot for him? Set up with a pass and his feet set, it’s a good looking shot. Hopefully other teams are noticing this because he’s still a good 3 and D guard. He defends and if you have a number 1 and 2 that can create open looks for him, he is more than capable of converting those looks into points at a more than acceptable rate. Also when he is run off the 3 point line he can drive and pass well enough to be a big addition to a team and fill a role. He is miscast in his role here.
wow...they really offered this dude an extension...as if the Harden trade wasn’t bad enough Stone is scaring me
Eric is generating more interest on the trade market. I think one of them stays long term. This is a good leak to generate buzz. Oladipo obviously won’t take 2 years. Hayward just got paid off a a worse season. Someone will get him 4/120
Almost 23 million? What has he done as a Rocket to even be worth 15 mil a year. I thought Timan was cheap? He would be drizzling that money with lighter fluid then lighting a match to it. Thankfully it didn't happen.
the Harden trade and even offering Dipo an extension has me giving the front office the side eye...these actions are very sus
Houston has yet to engage with teams on trade talks involving Oladipo, sources said. Nevertheless, Oladipo, 28, has the chance to become one of the best two-way players available at the trade deadline or free agency. Miami and New York are among teams who've had an interest in Oladipo, and both have the salary-cap space to sign him outright in the summer. Before the start of free agency, Houston would be able to allow him as much as a four-year, $113 million extension; once free agency comes, Houston can offer up to four years, $151 million, or five years, $195 million.
