Harden is one of the best shooters in the nba. Even if he stood at half court and did nothing the entire defense would know he was there and guard him. Hardly makes him a 0 off ball...

You gonna sit here and hold Harden to a higher standard than any other player in the league. I believe he can play any style but the Rockets supporting cast dictated his ISO ball. How you expect a guy who plays 45 minutes a game and runs 90% of the offense to run off ball all day long. First people complained he didn't play defense and then he didn't move off ball. When is this dude suppose to rest? No player in the league coulda shouldered that burden and run off ball and play elite defense for an entire game. He had to rest somewhere. First it was his defense that suffered. Then as his defense improved and we got more play makers it was his off ball movement. Plenty of videos from his OKC days he made cuts for easy dunks.

this is the greatest video. Thanks! Fantastic story.

I’m not watching the Nets religiously but am catching bits and pieces. I’m thinking about watching them a lot more.

am I correct in the assumption that basically the offense there is now the Harden offense?

People are saying "stacked team so Durant / Harden cannot be MVP," but Harden has been the most consistent player on the Nets. Irving and Durant have both been in and out, yet Harden keeps doing Harden things.

Harden the lone standing soldier . It’s gonna be tough beating the mavs by himself

Lol he beat much better teams as a Rocket with a way worse supporting cast. At least the Nets still have legit NBA level players and first round picks. His Rockets teammates were castoffs and not in the league.

He also beat the Suns earlier in the year without KD and Kyrie.Never count out a James Harden team.

I don't get the logic about Harden wanting to play more off-ball basketball. Why does he need to do it if he's averaging over 25 points and getting 11 assists every game? Before that, he's was averaging well over 30 points a game in the last 3 seasons.

Because Curry does it doesn't mean Harden should do it. Besides, it takes far more skill than what Harden is doing than what Curry is doing.

I class a person who has the ball in his hands and makes the plays happen as a playmaker. A player who is simply trying to get open from off-ball plays isn't playmaking, he's literally trying to score. The person that sets him up is the one who is playmaking.

Harden leaves Houston then shoots .06% better from 3PT than any season in Houston -- his career best by far..... smh

He's only played 33% of his Nets tenure with both Irving and KD so the multiple All-Star teammates creating him more-space/less-attention for open shots is invalid. He had multiple All-Stars in OKC.

Rockets could've used that increased percentage in those playoff losses.

Happy he's doing well though. He might be the lead candidate for MVP.

Every player on the Nets that gets regular minutes other Bruce Brown and Jordan shoots over 37 percent behind the arc with more than half shooting over 40. It's called space and taking open shots.

The rockets had a bunch of below average shooters that would pass up open shots.

Nash really had a bad coaching night. Not playing claxton more and the small crap on a 7’3 go ant like porzi was spectacularly stupid. Also that clown TLC might be the worst player we in the nba.

Harden is still jacking contested 3's mostly when he shoots them.

We'll see if his and Brooklyn's luck runs out.

He's been doing that for the past 7 years. There is a reason why he does it.... he knows he can make them. It's not luck. Also, Harden should be jacking up 3pt shots at the moment.... he's been shooting around 42% from the 3pt line in the last 9 games. He also had tonight because his teammates were not making any shots or doing anything with the ball when they had it.

Besides, Doncic shot way more contested shots tonight.

Exactly... that's my point. He's shooting the same shots in Brooklyn yet making them at a much higher clip than with Houston.

I'm not a Harden hater and anyone who loves Doncic should love James too since Luka basically jacked Harden's style in the first place.

Cause you need to do both or atleast have the ability to do so to change things up. Otherwise your offense becomes predictable. This is why teams shut us down in the playoffs. They have 7 games to plan for our predictable offense.

The Mavs were literally triple teaming after half time. In the first half harden bent Luka and the Mavs over and went to work. After half time they virtually had to triple team him. Had Kyrie played noway they could have tripled him as Kyrie would have went off

Nobody shut us down in the playoffs in 2018 but the refs and CP3s hamstring.

Name another team that has only one real star that has done as well the Rockets in the playoffs during Harden's tenure.

Nobody ever shut us down in the playoffs, this is one of the most repeated myths.
