You are right. The key to their 5 game winning streak was Westbrook scoring 1 point per FGA and hitting 48% from the FT line.

    No anger at all.

That tweet listed the points, rebounds and assists for both Beal and Westbrook over the 5 game win streak and conveniently only put the shooting percentages for Beal.

The reason they did that is because it would be embarrassing to show the 44/0/48 shooting percentage slash line for Westbrook. Because it is factually terrible.

I merely said it was nice of them to not embarrass him like that.

Westbrook with a team high -26 in the loss to the Clippers.
Did Beverly put the clamps on him or what?

    20/10/9 - 50% from the field

what a weird 19 game run for the wizards. they are 9-10 and have recently beaten some really good teams. on the other hand:

6 of their wins are by a combined 17 points
8 of their 10 losses are by more than 17 points

    -143 point differential. MOV of a 21-61 or 22-60 team but 9-10.

    excerpt:

For a franchise that has won just three playoff series in the past 15 years, the story threatened to be dire: Should Bradley Beal, the league’s leading scorer, be traded? Should Brooks, in the final season of a five-year deal, be fired? Should they start over — again?

They had to block it all out — even as players were allowed to work on only ballhandling drills and light conditioning at home, even as Sheppard began texts to his nervous charges with phrases like, “You don’t have the virus” before he got on to business, even as Davis Bertans moved into a hotel to make sure his pregnant wife and young child didn’t become infected. At 6 p.m. on Jan. 20, the NBA finally cleared the Wizards to hold a practice — their first team activity in nine days.

“It was almost like a basketball camp for kids,” Brooks said. They had only eight healthy players, so they couldn’t scrimmage. They dreamed up shooting drills. They worked on defensive slides. And then Russell Westbrook, the guard acquired in the offseason blockbuster trade for franchise linchpin John Wall, spoke up: “Let’s do a 17.”

A 17, in basketball parlance, means players must start on one sideline and make 17 cross-court trips in less than a minute. They are not fun. Players don’t suggest them. They dread them.

“Usually, you’re like, ‘God, I hate this coach,’ ” Brooks said. “I was like, ‘Um, Russell, are you serious?’ ”

But when the players lined up, so did the coaching staff. And the strength staff. And they all ran. For the first time in who knows when, the Wizards were having fun.

Yeah he is. We trade one point guard that can't shoot for another that can shoot, can't rebound, and can't run 2 days in a row.

Another efficient shooting night for Westbrook. He's literally stat paddling at this point, but he's getting a lot of help from his teammates.

Have the other teams not figured out how to play against Westbrook yet? Just stand off him and bait him to shoot the mid-range or 3pt shot. If you let him drive to the basket, he's going to punish you. Besides, he's been shooting like **** and yet they've been winning. He's getting crazy help from his teammates.

Beal deserves a much better team than he currently has.

    7 for 19 is not efficient, it's a whopping fg% of .368

    I don’t even care.

That is like telling me syphilis is better than chlamydia.

I don’t want either and will never pine for either player.

The Wizards can keep winning, it only helps the Rockets draft position.

Westbrook has 21 points on 20 shots. His +/- is -9 for the game.... and the Wizards are up by 2. Westbrook's winning energy truly transcends all mathematical explanation.
