You have 2 options right now. 1.tank and get future allstar or even a superstar in the draft. Create a young core for years to come 2. Make the 8th seed playoffs and get swept by the lakers. Continue to be mediocre and pray a superstar wants to come here, very unlikely.
Not at all. You can be the Heat, build a solid rotation, and be one FA away from a finals. Or the Clippers. Or the Suns.
Dallas was before, like right before they reshuffled the odds. They were the last team to take advantage of the old school tanking. We only have two drafts so far with the new system really threw a few surprises in the draft.
We cant be the clippers - we are not an appealing free agent destination at the moment. I don’t want to be the heat- Last year was flash in the pan and they didn’t even win- look where they are right now in the Weak east... Yeah they are playing a little bit better right now but what are the odds they go back to the finals this year... We Can’t even be the Sun’s right now - we don’t have a franchise player to build around- Chris Paul only OKed the trade because they had two young up-and-coming stars that they got high up in the draft- Right now we need to be focusing on finding a couple of young up-and-coming stars in the draft - For the next couple of years- Patience- and we also need a little bit of luck if we want It to be speedy
Oh, we can't brag about being awful. I was pro tank with the old odds, because you just guaranteed it pretty much this new one is riskier though... But I've thrown in the towel. I don't think there is anything wrong throwing in the towel with half the season over. Either we're going to be very bad and miss the playoffs anyway...or Wood comes back and they do something amazing and get into the playoffs. If we do anything in the middle then we better hope we get that post-superstar luck
I’ll be pretty frustrated if stone doesn’t make sure that we are putting out an inferior product every night
I hope we can get that 52% but I'm worried that trading vets and Wood returning might mess up the tank. The one thing is though the schedule gets really hard now.
I don’t understand anyone in the anti-tank crowd.. this is the perfect time half-way through a shortened season to tank with all of the injuries and nonsense .. might as well roll the dice at a 52% chance at a top 4 pick
I really hope we don’t half-ass this rebuild. We should be following the philosophy of building a dynasty through the draft with multiple high draft picks. Much like these teams did: Warriors — Steph, Klay, Draymond Spurs — Duncan, Parker, Ginobli Thunder — Durant, Westbrook, Harden 2021, 2022, and 2023 is our window. Stone has to nail all of those picks.
