I'm going with T2 on this one. Action packed and the thumbs up scene gets me everytime. Bruce Willis can eat glass for all I care.

T2 is hard to top. I can't imagine anyone not liking it.

Mission: Impossible - Fallout had some crazy good action, too, although it's not on the same level as T2 story-wise. And the Daniel Craig Bond with the fight on the crane was a great scene.

^I need to see Fury Road.

Die Hard transcends the genre. Incredible script..tight writing..everything has purpose, from the first conversation on the plane about taking your shoes off to relax to his wife not using his last name, these aren't throwaway lines...they all mean something and have purpose later in the film. In a sea of unbelievable and unrelatable characters in action movies at that time ("I'LL BE BACK!! "), John McLane tells the villain that if he'd open the front door, he'd leave. And Alan Rickman is just unreal as Hans Gruber. He delivers those lines so well and comes off so believable.

To me, Die Hard is as good an action movie as has ever been made. When I saw Dark Knight for the first time, I found that so many of the elements that worked for it were the things that worked well for Die Hard. While they're very different movies, I relate them quite a bit.

I think T2 is a fantastic movie. But this poll isn't remotely close to me.

    Personally I think it’s Predator.

Hard to top Die Hard though

T2 is definitely great, but have to go with Die Hard between the two.

Why is OP comparing a 1990 LA period piece to a Christmas classic?

None of those 2 are really favorites of mine.

I like the Aliens and Predator better but maybe because I like Sci FI.

Matrix is better than those as well.

It's interesting that those do not really register as great movies, I like them but would never say must watch, well maybe Die Hard.

I never really cared for movies like Die Hard and Lethal Weapon. The first LW was OK.

One can make the argument for Die Hard as a better action movie.

Terminator 2 is the better movie overall, and it's not really close.

this is actually a tough one. die hard is a classic, but T2 gets my vote. i saw both in the theaters when they came out and remember both experiences. as far as action and bang for your buck, T2 really doesnt let up the entire time...and those special fx were pretty insane for 1991.

    honorable mention for predator too.

how about some love for p. swayze? roadhouse? point break? all the great action movies have memorable, timeless quotes and theres a bunch b/t those two movies.
