1. Hakeem 2. Tied for second, the next 6 most important players on the first championship team Maxwell Thorpe Horry Cassell Elie Kenny 3. Drexler - the new guy for the second championship 4. Yao - mainly because I love this man 5. Harden 6. Shane Battier 7. Luis Scola 8. Francis/Cuttino 9. Barkley 10. The little engines that could. Aaron Brooks/Chuck Hayes/Carl Landry/etc.
C- Wood PF - Tucker SF - Tate SG - Oladipo PG - Wall These are 5 favorite Rockets because the ball movement is amazing.
A lot of (former) great players. Would be hard to decide on an 8-man rotation. Does Jeremy Lin start at PG or SG.
My favorite superstar Rockets have been Harden, Yao, Olajuwon. Then, it's a bunch of ties with a bunch of role players (i.e. Hayes, Scola, Battier, Delfino, Sura, etc). I was 6 and 7 during our championship years and didn't follow the Rockets religiously until I was 8 years old.
I started in ‘84 when I arrived in this great city. Enjoyed Rudy T from afar, and began watching The Mighty Twirler as a soph at Niagara at MSG. Calvin and even I are still around. That MSG is not. So, my favs start with: Yao & Dream ET a/k/a Sammy Cassell Beard & Franchise Honorable Mention: Junk Yard Dog a/k/a Super Mario Rodney McCray Clyde Tuck Tate climbing with the proverbial bullet.
Harden Dream Cassel Moses Mad Max It's actually a good question. Yes I put Harden #1 because I enjoy all the facets of his game and I love a great passer. Magic is probably my all time favorite player but that's because he is the 1st guy that got me into basketball.
Hard to rank them and stop at 5, but I started watching the NBA in 93, so my favorite players would be from that time on 1. Hakeem 2. Harden 3. Mad Max 4. Robert Horry 5. Clyde Drexler Honorable mention: Yao, Steve Francis, Ron Artest, Luis Scola And I used to argue that Mo Taylor was unstoppable in the post as well. So he should be mentioned I guess
