Mavericks fined $25,000 for inappropriate video

    NEW YORK (Ticker) - The Dallas Mavericks on Monday were fined $25,000 by the NBA for showing an in-arena video that ridiculed opposing players.

    The incident occurred on April 24 as pregame entertainment to Dallas' 104-79 victory over the Sacramento Kings in Game Three of their Western Conference first-round series. The video featured comedy sketches about various members of the Kings.

    Sacramento won the best-of-seven series in five games.

    During an interview of Cuban on ?20/20
    or some similar program, he came off much better, just a basketball fanatic.

    One interesting thing to note though, he donates an equal amount to charity for every amount he is fined.

    25K to Cuban is like 25 cents to many of us. It's annoying but doesn't come close to putting a dent in the pocket book.

    I read an article that said there were very hefty fines for this sort of thing. As in, we would be surprised at how much they were going to fine them. I guess the article was wrong.
