It literally doesn’t matter what you call it. The end result is a loss. That’s the only thing that matters
Once Wood returns and Wall continues his ball hogging and Wood freezing out ways then someone needs to have a chat to him.
Silas is a coward for being passive aggressive here. Just call out Wall, he lacked effort on defense tonight. And maybe, just maybe, play the guy who was hot MORE? Nwaba deserved MORE playing time BEFORE game got out of hand. Nwaba actually helped bring team back from crappy 1st quarter start. Not stepping up to cut off the driver was just cheeks. What a shetty teammate.
Who is saying to tell Wood to tank? The GM is not going to walk into the locker room and say “Christian, tone down the effort because we are tanking.” The decision to tank is in the control of the owner and GM because they control the roster. They can trade away players like Tucker, Oladipo, Gordon and House. The GM then usually tells the head coach the emphasis is playing and developing the young players. No one tells the players to give sub optimal effort.
The Rockets need to call Detroit and see if they would do a Wall for Blake Griffin trade. The Pistons get the better player and the Rockets get the player with one year less on his deal.
WOW. I thought I was the only one absolutely fed up with Wall. But even I wouldnt trade him for the corpse of Blake Griffin.
people really need to stop brining up Wood as some sort of argument against tanking “he didn’t come here to tank”...Ok? Did he come here to be the 12th seed in the West instead? This team SUCKS. Wood has 2 years left on his deal after this year. The Rockets wouldn’t be relevant by the time his deal is up even if he we actively tried to compete. This roster simply isn’t good. Wood could easily be over 30 before the Rockets do anything of note, and that’s with or without tanking. We are looking at a long rebuild most likely. That is what happens when u trade a superstar and get nothing back but picks that might or might not be good in 2024 or 2026. I say it time and time again, we won just 1 playoff series in 15 years before Harden’s MVP campaign in 2015...before Harden arrived in 2012, we had made the playoffs just 5 times since 1999...it’s not gonna be pretty for a long time post-Harden, players like him don’t grow on trees
Trading away the roster is "saying" it without words. Remember Rox told Harden they were trying to win, he saw different. Actions are louder than words.
Oh no, this team even with Wood won’t be a playoffs team. I doubt anyone believes that. Harden would have carried this mess to the probaly to the fourth or fifth seed but no way in hell this is a respectable level team or championship level even with the best offensive player in tje planet
Won't be relevant with a bunch of 19 year old's running around either. Goal is to be 6 to 8th seed, get some playoff experience, draft smart, trade smart, and jump from 6th to 8th seed the next year into top 4.
Why would the pistons do it? take on a year more for a role player with delusions of grandeur? The pistons are not wining anything anytime soon anyway. They would rather buyout BG then take on Wall
So you do not comprehend the difference between winning and losing. Harden=WINNING No Harden=LOSING Going home in 2nd round of playoffs is night and day different from getting BLOWN OUT 8 times in 8 games. And counting.
there are people who think this team healthy and with Wood playing is a playoff team...probably all based on that little 6 game won streak against horrible and/or decimated teams I keep seeing these weak arguments against tanking like “Wood didn’t come here to tank” or “Wood will just leave if we tank”...as if the alternative to tanking is us actually being good when the alternative is us being trash it’s like Wood will be turned off playing on a 20 something win team, but playing on a team that wins like 32 games is supposed to make him feel so much better
The Rockets are going to lose, it is inevitable and if Wood wants out then he wants out. He isn’t good enough to hold the Rockets hostage when it comes to rebuilding. The Rockets chances of winning long term improvement dramatically with a few high lottery picks.
yeah, people talk as if he’s a franchise player when it’s more like he just so happens to be the best player the franchise has at the moment Christian Wood shouldn’t be stopping any organization from tanking...this isn’t Jokic or Embiid
Supposedly the ownership group has been pressuring the GM to win now. Wall helps them win more now. Not sure the Pistons would do it, but worth the call.
Wall is a career loser dude. He dosent help anyone win. Look at his wizards career. Look at how he flopped without Wood to carry this team.Despite his unfounded confidence, he dosent make anyone better. At this point Russ is playing better then this guy.
