Started german series called 4 blocks. Pretty good so far. Between "Dark" and this show, German brehs put out some good production. @Yung-T how accurate is the depiction of foreigners hating the German nationals from this?
Watched the first season of Primal over the past week with my oldest son. Man, it is awesome. It reminds me of old school Hanna Barbara cartoons from the 1960s and 1970s like The Herculoids, Thunder and Johnny Quest. You can also tell the stories are influenced by Robert e Howard’s conan stories. Highly recommended.
Started this damn show called "The Night Of" created by Richard Price, who worked on a few episodes of "The Wire" (which I didnt like) and Steven Zaillan, who wrote the screenplay for "Schindler's List". Im through 4 episodes right now and Holy Cow. This show is so damn good. I shouldve never started it 11 at night, cause it kept me up after each show. It takes you through the night of a crime scene and the whole booking process, the detaining process, how to obtain legal counsel, the transferring of jail to prison and how the insides of a prison system works from both a prisoner and a jailer perspective. The writing is so good. The Acting is so good. The directing is so good. Everything is so damn detailed. All the scenes make you anxious, every moment is tense. Sadly, I just found out about it and it came out in 2016 and they will not be making a second season. Its on HBO and HIGHLY recommended.
Im assuming that it falls off in the tail end of the series cause right now, through 4 episodes, its just been him trying to survey the land of prison and trying to survive. Its been really good so far and the attention to detail and the camera work has been phenomenal.
The mystery is the problem You kind of know who did it and the payoff is kind of meh but everything else is great, I still enjoyed it.
Finally started Yellowstone. I’m digging it. Kevin Costner has really resurrected his career. Was doing some troll **** for awhile, but the last few things I’ve seen from him are awesome (Let him go, the highwaymen, Yellowstone)
Same here, I watched the first 3 episodes recently and I'm sticking with it. Didn't realize it was Taylor Sheridan's project, that guy can't do wrong with me so far: Sicario, Hell or High Water, Wind River...he's got a couple of interesting-looking movies coming out this yearish. Texas boy done good.
^Ha, we started Yellowstone about two weeks ago. Paid $15 bucks or so, but it's well worth it. A lot of nice scenery... Also learned that Kevin Costner can sing and has a band. Spent a good deal of time listening to one of his albums. It's surprisingly good, although I have no desire to hear more right now.
A PBS Masterpiece series on Amazon Prime set in a rural Cheshire village during World War II. I loved this series.
The Americans is really good and is a show that seems to get better as it goes along. They wrap it up well too.
Just watched the Murder Among the Mormons on Netflix. Netflix is really good at these documentaries. Especially helps when you only vaguely know the story so it has a bit of twists and turns. Glad I went in without reading any reviews or any research into the story.
I gotta pick this back up. I remember the teaser trailers before the premiere, I was really excited about it, and then I watched the first 3 episodes in those consecutive weeks and was just severely let down. Everybody has good things to say about it though.
