I know he is off the mark today, but man KP Jr.’s got a pretty shooting stroke.

Bad shooting day but that 12/3 assist to turnover ratio is really awesome.

Ya it's a smooth release. At his age consistent shooting will be a problem. Only experience and reps will solve that but his playmaking was on display today.

He needs to shoot, his success is going to come down to shooting and making 3’s.

No, he needs to shoot 3’s. His career success is going to largely hinge on his ability to improve as a perimeter shooter.

Exactly, the Rockets may play him AT shooting guard and have him defend shooting guards but he is the guy that will have the ball in his hands, creating for himself and others... basically Jordan, Bryant and Harden were point guards.

Vipers should sign 7'1 Dragan Bender.

His guard skills are perfect for their 5 out offense.

And Vipers need a 7 footer.

    Sign Jonah Bolden too.

I'm a Wooten fan, but he is just still too raw.

Anyone with eyes could see Porter is playing the point.

The fact that are playing him exclusively at point is interesting. I viewed him more as a 2, but he is getting better at facilitating every game.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m down for playing KPJ at the point. But I just hope we don’t mold his game entirely on having the ball in his hands. Some off-ball plays for him should be prioritized.

Well if he were playing overseas she would be a top 3 pick. If he were a sophomore in college averaging 25 a game he would be a top 3-4 pick (assuming he hadn’t gone bat **** crazy).... had he gone to an extra year of prep school like Martin did and was an NCAA freshman he would go #1.

What he does is extremely rare. Very hard to find someone with his smooth athleticism that also has his instincts, his skill level and his ability to create for other. There are only a few guys that do that at the NBA level and at a high level of success. Porter clearly has that talent.... the problem is that he is bat **** crazy and has a lot of demons. Most people don’t overcome the type of issues he has ever and Porter is being asked to overcome them at 20 years old, and deal with fame and money and playing in the hardest league in the world.

So there are MANY red flags and his problems are not as simple as “he’s a knucklehead”. So the slow approach the Rockets are taking is smart. Porter is getting to play ball and be around guys his own age with minimal pressure. I am sure there will be pressure to send him to Houston but I am fine with him finishing the year with the Vipers. Martin Jr. is known as a really mature and hardworking guy that stays really positive. It would be great if they bonded. Thomas is also considered a very stand up guy and the coach the Vipers has is no nonsense but very well liked.

His strength is having the ball in his hands and creating for himself and others... and his aptitude is very high. The Rockets want to maximize that. So the Rockets in the future could draft another point guard as long as he can shoot or the Rockets could target a player that is a more traditional shooting guard with a game more like Ray Allen or Klay Thompson... it gives the Rockets more options and potentially a big backcourt.

Let's not be Silas stupid now.

Porter makes the game easier for his teammates when he has the ball, just like Harden.

Putting ball in lesser players hands is the opposite of common sense.

Speaking of stupid, why does Abdelfattah insist on playing Wooten and KJ in same lineups?

the internet says he’ll be 21 on May 4th. Not that hats old, but I had to look it up because indeed this at 19 is different than this at 21.

whereas a Jonathan Kuminga is definitely 18 and won’t be 19 until October.
