Wow. Those pieces from an engine, apparently, were floating down for a long time. Suddenly the people staring up at the weirdness went, "Hey! Maybe we should get out of here!" Good idea. The end result seems to be no one injured, the jet landed safely, and somehow nothing hit a person on the ground. A damn lucky break all around, if you ask me. Looks like this came a bit closer than anyone would like to see to being a bad ending.
My father in law flies for United. I think he flies 737s though. I did the preemptive to make sure it wasn't him, as I always do.
Obviously an issue with the seventh fetzer valve. Maybe the bypass line too. They should have used ball bearings and anti-freeze (preferably Prestone).
