This dude is a baller. Straight up will show up to the park and take your shoes. Smooth. Lefty, quick like top10% quick. Explosive, nice shooting touch for a 20 year old. He gets his mindset right. The league needs to watch out. He will be top 20 player if he can stay in the gym.
He cut once and got a wide open layup. He missed the layup but maybe that highlight will prevent the future "can kpj play off the ball" thread
The tantalizing thing about him is his age, at only 19 yrs old if he was having these kinds of performances in college he'd be a lock for top 10 pick. And we all know GLeague is a higher level than the NCAA.
He looks pretty disciplined on the court. Doesn’t seem to push the too much. He stays within his game... the thing is, his game is badass. like, elite handles and vision and Kyrie-Esque finishes - with flair. I pray for him.
We should probably temper our expectations a bit. Top 20 NBA potential is difficult to assess while playing against G league competition.
His skill set at his age is very rare. If he stays in the gym. All he has to do is stay in the gym. He was in the NBA last year. He was playing the exact same way against NBA elite wing defenders. He will be a top 20 player if he stays in the gym. I will elaborate on what stays in the gym means. It means he puts in that Jamal Crawford work in.(google what his work ethic intels and how much bball he plays, even in offseason) If lives on the court and keeps his body in peak shape. He keeps his mind focused on getting better each year and doesn’t fall into the James Harden party life style. If he does that he will be a top 20 talent. I am not saying he will become that but that talent and natural ability is actually a top 10 skill set. Not many dudes in the league have all he has. Oh and he is 20. Only going to get better. College bball really helps shape that talent and put structure in the players lives.
I can tell KPJ is looking to get others involved early. But when he gets in the paint he needs to look to score.
