Thanks for the link! That was fun to watch. Liked seeing more of Porter, who was playing so well early that he started drawing the double team. Mr. Smooth! Reaves really impressed me, as did Brooks, who is money from behind the arc. Martin? He played out of control far too often, turning it over 4 times. Still, he was very productive, finishing with 18, 12 boards, and a couple of steals. If you ignore the kid going 0-6 from three, of course. Martin's exactly where he needs to be this season, in my opinion. I was entertained!
True but that doesn't mean much being better at 19. That's like the people saying luka was better at 18 then lbj lol. I'm sure lbj was better then Jordan at 18 too. Until you bet atkeast 24 in the nba you don't know what you got. Seen lots of young studs go bust. But everything else you said I agree n makes me hopeful cause basically like u said doesn't matter how it looks. Its about the results of going in the bucket at the end of the day
I feel like his shot release has actually gotten a little higher. The one thing that is promising about his shot form is how it's a quick one motion shot similar to Harden. It does seem like an effortless motion when he shoots.
Good rebound game by Porter Jr. Good sign that he doesn't mentally fall off a cliff after bad games. Progress. He's getting very disproportionate defensive attention in the g league. Defenses are always hedging more guys towards his direction. He has a lot of gravity in the g-league which makes sense as he's honestly the .let talented player in the entire league at the moment.
KPJ definitely needs to get stronger. He scored 20 in the 1st, 3 in the 2nd and 2 in both the 3rd , 4th. That's like Harden but in reverse.
I primarily blame that on lack of coaching adjustments. Vipers also won by 15 so there was no sense of urgency either. And Porter definitely has areas of improvement but what 20 year old doesn't?
This is the key and why we do not need to rush him to the big league. It's obvious he has the talent on the court. His issues are not on the court... Be patient...
hes a carbon copy of Harden, both in creating for himself and others. Not saying he’s as good, but his game is literally exactly the same. He will have the ball in his hands. Much like Harden/CP3, Harden/Westbrook and Harden/Wall, it will be best to stagger his minutes if there’s another primary ball handler on the team.
RGV definitely has him playing a lot of point guard. I’m sure that isn’t coincidental. He’s being groomed for it. He’ll have an opportunity to show whether or not he can handle it.
Man...the more film you watch of KPJ...theres really something there. He’s got that spark you see from stars. I think we should be ridiculously careful with him. Bring him up only when you feel he’s mentally ready and you can give him FULL minutes. None of this random spot minutes stuff. Also, he needs to play with rollers like Wood and KJM. one of the things I noticed watching him...he’s got gravity. Defenses completely collapse into the paint when he drives. PLEASE give him some shooters Houston.
and he he likes to shoot. he's a dribble into his shot/attack guy not a catch & shoot/off ball/cutter guy
