If the clippers lose again .....I still think Kawhi stays.
I dont think he leaves for anywhere but the Lakers.

Conley and DeRozan are the same person I think
Lol. But they can be nice 3rd or 4th options on contenders.

if the Lakers fall short vs the nets in the finals, I can definitely see a scenario where cp3 opts out and he goes to LA on a 2 year type deal to play with lebron and AD. Where they retool a bit and look to upgrade. opting in isn't a lock at all imo

Collins is getting paid for sure

Dipo has hurt himself value-wise, but is likely to still get a nice deal

Cavs will give Allen a good deal as well

what this shows me is just how garbage this free agent class is

Lowry's decision will be the most interesting imo. Since it's likely this'll be his last deal, I think he goes ring-chasing. He could be the final piece for a few different teams including Philly, Denver, Miami and the Clippers as well.

If Chris Paul was gonna take less money to win a ring. He woulda done that here. I can't see him walking away from 43 million dollars to sign a 2 year 18 million dollar contract....

not even close the same scenario. I certainly can see him do so at this stage of his career, especially when hes proven he still a damn good player and can impact winning in this league. the money won't be that drastically different and he gets a legit shot at a ring

Why wouldn't he just wait another year after this contract is up? He won't walk away from 30 million dollars. Honestly he should sign with the Clippers not the Lakers.

Because that’s one less year of a full season and wear and tear and the lebron cp3 relationship is the reason why I mention the Lakers. Which is absolutely relevant since they are really close and it’s no secret they’ve discussed playing together

I get it but he played as a clipper they would welcome him back. And Lebron is pushing 40. If it's about winning a ring the smarter move is to go the Clippers.

He’s pushing 40 and about to maybe win another mvp. Is lebron going from mvp to out of the league next year. Wild guess but I really doubt it. The clippers still haven’t proven anything. If they still can’t get over the hump again, that’s say more about them than anything else

Lebron is phenomenal but at some point he's gonna take a step back. The Clippers overall just have more talent. They need someone like CP3 to push them over the top.

I might not remember the exact details, but I do remember thinking Wade made a bad financial decision with his contract on the Heat because he was following LeBron. I don't think Chris Paul is going to be dumb enough to sacrifice that much money just to help LeBron win a championship seeing how LeBron did Wade back then. Again, I don't remember the exact details, but LeBron nor Paul, if they think at all alike, will sacrifice any money in order to strengthen a team. For LeBron, it's the team's responsibility to build the team around him and the max money he will always take.

Something like 10 or 11 teams CAN have over 20 million in cap space (if they renounce cap holds, options etc). 5 teams could have over 30 million.

Kawhi, Jrue, Jared Allen and John Collins are certain to get PAID!
Lowry, Conley and Victor Oladipo wont get anywhere close to their max, but they'll still get offers upwards of 25+ million. Will be interesting to see if they sign for sentimentality/loyalty/comfort (home team) or biggest payday or take less $$ to ring chase.

Lonzo Ball despite a terrible start is going to get paid IF he continues shooting well. Started below 30% from three and is now at 38%

Chris Paul (Player Option) is the most interesting case. He's having another good year and has elevated the suns to one of the best teams in the West. He's 35. Not saying it is likely, but I wouldn't be surprise if he does opt out of the 43 million. Why? One - he's made a ton of money and the only thing he is missing in his career is a finals appearance/win. Maybe he'll sign on to a contender like the Heat for a multi year contract starting at 20+ million. Or take even less (the MLE) to sign with the Clippers or Lakers or Bucks etc.

Two- this might be his last chance to get one more payday. Could he get a team like the Suns, Mavs, Heat etc to sign him to a contract like 4/90ish million? (the Gordon Hayward move)

Edit: only the suns could sign CP3 to a 4 year without affecting the over 38 rule... other teams would need to sign him to a 3year or work within the req of the over 38 rule.
