Based on the title, I thought Apple+ had finally released the promised adaptation of Issac Asimov’s The Foundation, the first in a famous trilogy of SF novels I have on my bookshelf. Nope! Wrong forum for that (and it’s still not streaming, not yet!)

Sorry for going off the reservation. I believe we have a couple of solid building blocks in Wood, especially, with Tate looking damn good. There’s some cement made up of young players that I think have genuine potential either with the team now or in the Bubble developing. The recent addition of Kevin Porter, Jr. was unexpected, and might end up being one of those building blocks if he can keep his head on straight. Jury’s definitely out on that one. We also have multiple picks the next few seasons, even if it’s damn difficult at times to figure out just what they amount to.

I’d say we have a real start on the foundation of a rebuild, but a long way still to go before putting up a completed structure. I’m assuming Wall, Olapido, Gordon and particularly Tucker aren’t in our long range plans. We still have an owner who’s a disaster, in my opinion, and a young coach I like, but still needing to prove he’s worthy of being here for the long haul. Gotta add that watching this team is enough to drive any sane person crazy.

How good can the institutional foundation be when "Shut up and listen" is still the company slogan?

Wood and Tate is a good start. Hoping KPJ can be a third piece and that we can trade for a fourth by the deadline.

what you gonna do with top 4 pick?

add an all star to this roster do you get a contender?
    99% cf would say no...

    then why tank...?

add 2 allstars and then you perhaps have something..

but how many years you need to tank to get 2 allstars? imho at least 6 years lolololol

because top 4 picks often arent all stars and even if they do become allstars it takes on average perhaps 3-5 years to become one...

so basically you need to shut down the franchise for 10 years to even get a shot at title and even then you may perhaps never won cause even having 3 allstars is not a guarantee to win...do they games mesh... did you created a losing culture in the meantime, what happens to the other parts of the roster some of them gonna leave etc

all in all losing is a longshot losing proposal.....

U can trade the top 4 pick for an all-star

    Sheesh

I know what ur saying..if we draft another 19 yr old then yes it takes a couple yrs just to see what u got...but we already have kmj and kpj and wood and Tate...we get a top 4 pick we are most likely trading it for a unhappy all-star..can't think of any rite now...maybe Beal??

I dont know, Your are still missing 4-5 young pieces. This 1 player will have to be the playmaker/superstar Wood needs to destroy double teams. Then you need to have those 2 solid young role players. I like what poster said about tate being a nice elie type off the bench. But as far as that add in Kevin Porter maybe who could be 1 of those young elite role players, and your missing at least 3-4 starters and maybe a 3 good bench players as well as tate coming off the bench. I really dont see anyone else worth keeping. So basically ....

    1.
    2. Wood
    3.
    4.
    5. Kevin Porter jr
    6.
    7.
    8.
    9. Tate
Mason Jones, Martin Jr, and Brown

    Atleast 6 more players needed.

Wood, Tate and KPJ are worth playing together to see what we got. KPJ needs a few weeks to tighten his game up, but he plays aggressive and intelligent with the ball. I can see him leading our second unit by the end of the season.

After that you need two stars. Hopefully we cash in all our picks to guarantee two top 5 attempts, you have to hit on one of them. It's easy to piss those away, they better be prepared.

Kevin Porter Jr. should be Starting for the Rockets. After the Trade Deadline.

Victor Oladipo, Eric Gordon, P.J Tucker, Danuel House, Ben McLemore, Rodions Kurucs all need to be traded for Picks or any young Rookie Contracts.

I hope the Rockets find some G League Forwards to trade for and try them out with Kevin Porter Jr, KJ Martin Jr., Jaesean Tate, Christian Wood.

Do you think OBI Toppin's could be had? I think he would bank big time around Wood.

If you were watching the Rockets the last couple weeks you really weren't watching the Rockets. Their best player wasn't playing. I'm not saying they're all that good, but it's kind of pointless to judge the team when Christian Wood hasn't been playing.

Its been less than a year since Harden left, the fact that they even have a foundation is nothing short of amazing IMO.
