I don't think he is a .500 GM but I agree about him making enemies and creating a certain kind of culture that made people mad. You can't do those things while also doing something that can come back and bite you big time. I did not know that Houston was as reviled among the powers that be until the scandal and I have to put most of the blame on that to Lunhow.
Nice article on Cishek by tags (see JR post). It talks about how his release point was too high last season. A high release point for a sidewinder will keep a sinker from sinking and generate less tailing action. Fixing a problem is difficult though and even if fixed there is no guarantee he will be as good as in the past.
Nope. If he signed with Rangers, he probably would have broken his junk jerking away when one of their players gave him the old fashion Ranger greeting.

Some like the way Luhnow ran the team. He didn't care about peoples past if they could help the team win. It's professional sports not little league. He took risks and hit more than he missed. It takes balls that most GM's dont have to step up to the plate and do everything he possibly could to bring a winner like this cities MLB team had never seen. If you want to call him a .500 GM that's myopic. Truth is every rebuild will hurt a GM's over all record and what really matters is how the team performs after it has been rebuilt. Three 100 win seasons should tell you he did a very good job of rebuilding the Astros and Nooks post that showed the moves he made proved he was well above what is currently going on in the Stros current FO.
Can you provide any details on this? I know some people who need to hear about it. They certainly were well informed about the Astros cheating.
Tucker is the #22 player on the fantasy draft board. Projected to hit 30 homeruns. Too much garbage on that top 100 list. Alvarez should be there. Valdez should be there.
I dont hate Click I just dont think he spent his obviously limited resources properly. Believe me when I tell you that I hope Straw is ready, hits .250, plays great defense and steals 75 bases. I do think the rebuilt bullpen will be a strength of the team. Hopefully last years experience will help Pressly become a lights out closer.
