Cause OKC owns their pick too and can swap that one with the Rockets. OKC gets the the 2 best out of OKC, HOU, MIA picks(unless we get top 4). Morey got bent over on this trade so bad.
How funny is it that OKC, HOU, and MIA all have the same records right now: 11-17 I remember I pointed out all three had identical records a couple weeks ago at 6-9. Tanking is a no brainer.
Yeah and the Warriors just won. Not all that bad. Thought with KAT back Minnesota would start to win a few games but they still suck ass
Damn we just aren't bad enough. The Wolves, Magic, Pistons, Wizards and Cavaliers are seriously bad and it's impossible to be worse than them.
There will be a lottery. Nearly every year a team out side the top 3 worst teams jumps up. Even if they Rockets don't have a top 4 worst record, being close enough gives them a chance to jump up.
I didn't think we had what it takes to tank, but after this 7 game skid... boy was I wrong! We do have what it takes to be terrible!
http://www.tankathon.com/pick_odds Even at 6th worst record we have a 31-32% chance of getting top 4.
We keep the lesser pick of OKC, Heat, and Rockets unless we end up with a top 4 pick. Keeping the Heat (who actually have talent and have severely underperformed due to various reasons) close to our record is advantageous. For example, maybe we have to give the #5 pick to OKC but we keep Heats #9 pick.
I don't mind tanking but do it while leaning on rookies who can grow while having vets on the back end of the roster. Look at 2009 OKC, with a 1 year KD and Rookie in Westbrook in which they sucked but they got exp. Next year the got Harden as a Rookie 6th man and the rest is history. So if losing doesn't matter (7 in a row?!?) then a lineup for a future when all healthy should be, ? / Exum KPJ / ? Tate / ? KJM / ? Wood / ? Those ?'s are vets like Wall, Gordon, PJ, Boogie, Dipo, etc.., and should be traded for other young prospects to fill in those ?s. Simply put, losing is fine if you are doing it the right way. I feel we're not and THAT is frustrating, not the actual losing.
Check my previous post, we're not trying to tank and yet we still are. That makes it worse!! There are proper ways to tank and we're blowing that too!
These are the types of players we should target with our assets. Marcos "Didi" Silva (Draft Rights & Tate's teammate) Carsen Edwards (H-Town!) Elie Okobo Chimezie Metu Alize Johnson Mfiondu Kabengele Fill in those ?'s with some exciting youth and you could have something like this. This group probably having losing streaks too but damn would it be exciting and you might hit the lottery win 1 or 2 of them. Edwards / Exum KPJ / Didi Tate / Didi KJM / Metu Wood / Kabengele
If Tillman wasn't so cheap the actual move would be to absorb really bad contracts and get first round picks in return. Dipo and Gordon for any of the following players plus multiple firsts. Kemba, Blake Westbrook Tobias Harris Wiggins
