I couldn't find anything that prevented it in the CBA for 2 ways. Really a rough outcome. Hopefully the NBAPA can find a way to compensate him.
The athletes of today have nutrition, exercise and diet down to an exact science with tailored workouts and diets for every player to reach their maximum potential. The pace of the modern game coupled with everybody pushing their bodies to its' absolute peak leads to more non-contact injuries unfortunately. Back in the day, athletes were simply not as serious about muscle training and they weren't putting the same amount of load onto their bodies that the athletes of today are required to do. Brian Sutterer MD on YouTube has a good video about it
Spalding was a starter for the Vipers at least. Even without Spalding on the team, Wooten does not start for the Vipers and Vipers are hurting for bigs over 6'6 even moreso than the Rockets.
Man, waiving the dude seems really shitty. It is what it is I guess, but damn that seems cold hearted.
Yes. A 2 way dude can be waived fkr whatever reason. Sucks for him must feel like top of the world to finally break into the big leagues to tear his achilles in his 2nd freaking game.
His contract is prob guaranteed or something. NBA players have insurance. But the Rox need roster space cant have a dude doing nothing.
