FAIL. FAIL. FAIL. One BIG Texas-sized FAIL. “Just could not see this coming!” “Unforeseen circumstances!” “Where did this snow/rain/sleet suddenly come from?!” “Randomly selected!” (LOL, Sure! ... As people are now going on 5-6-7 hours)
Neighbors shut their water off to their house, because they had no more water (lines frozen?). Ours are still dripping fine.
Austin Energy has gone silent, not really the best move considering - just tell folks what’s happening
I’m pretty sure my pool is fcked. Welp, first world problems. No power since 2am here. Luckily the fireplace is keeping the house somewhat warm.
My shower isn't running anymore. I had dripped it overnight, and it just stopped. All other pipes still run, and im dripping them. Does this seem sufficient? Hoping dripping all the others takes the "pressure" off of the shower pipes.
Power just went out at 11 am. I’m going to assume it’s a rolling one. If it lasts too long, then abandon house for car? F*ck!
Walked the German Shepherd, he loved it. Electricity went out around 1 am still none. Had to wrap ourselves in those abuelita blankets. If you grew up kicking the ball in the parking lot with Juan and Jose you know which blankets I'm talking about. Usually a large tiger or lion and weighs 20lbs. That's funny right there. But good news bc of bobrek I can now embed tweets from the samsung 7. check it out:
My kitchen sink water is out. Everything else is running fine. Anyone have an idea of what is going on? Did one of my pipes bust?
It’s possible it’s frozen. I let every faucet drip last night and will continue to do so. Water can freeze in lines to a specific sink/shower while others do not.
with the amount of natural disasters Houston experiences being in the Hurricane funnel of the world, you would think we would be better prepared.
You don’t. The sites are “temporarily unavailable”. I think I saw they stopped the rolling blackouts. It basically ****ed up some of the power supply grids and those are now causing people who don’t have power to basically be without power the rest of today.
I’m boiling large pots of water in on the stove......no space heaters, but at least the kitchen is better than 60 degrees.
