Some more prescient thoughts from our First President:
"Without looking forward to an extremity of this kind (which nevertheless ought not to be entirely out of sight), the common and continual mischiefs of the spirit of party are sufficient to make it the interest and duty of a wise people to discourage and restrain it.

It serves always to distract the public councils and enfeeble the public administration. It agitates the community with ill-founded jealousies and false alarms, kindles the animosity of one part against another, foments occasionally riot and insurrection. It opens the door to foreign influence and corruption, which finds a facilitated access to the government itself through the channels of party passions. Thus the policy and the will of one country are subjected to the policy and will of another.

There is an opinion that parties in free countries are useful checks upon the administration of the government and serve to keep alive the spirit of liberty. This within certain limits is probably true; and in governments of a monarchical cast, patriotism may look with indulgence, if not with favor, upon the spirit of party. But in those of the popular character, in governments purely elective, it is a spirit not to be encouraged. From their natural tendency, it is certain there will always be enough of that spirit for every salutary purpose. And there being constant danger of excess, the effort ought to be by force of public opinion, to mitigate and assuage it. A fire not to be quenched, it demands a uniform vigilance to prevent its bursting into a flame, lest, instead of warming, it should consume."

The outcome of the vote was basically this:

Did the people who stormed the capitol on Jan 6 want to harm you?

    If yes, vote to convict.

If no, vote not to convict.

It was shown, during the hearing, that the prosecution straight up doctored evidence. It's even more egregious that so many Senators saw that and in good conscience still voted to convict. Totally subjective, personal, and vindictive. Maybe they're the traitors?

At no point was it shown that they doctored evidence that I saw. What are you referring to?

They presented images from a "verified" Twitter account by photoshopping in the blue checkmark. They also back dated a post by one year to try to connect a tweet to the Jan 6 event.

Considering the fact that President Trump told the crowd, " I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard today" every politician (D and R) must have known perfectly well that he would be acquitted. Dems specifically omitted that line from their video evidence. [source]

This indicates that, from the beginning, Dems have known that this entire impeachment has been a waste of money and time, for the sole purpose of maintaining the attack on Trump and fueling hatred.

From the posts in this thread, it sounds like it's working well.

Immediately after finding out that Pence was being moved because the Capitol had been breached by his supporters Trump tweeted this- "Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution"

Why do you think Trump did that?

My point is that the impeachment has been a waste of Americans' money and time. D's and R's have known from the beginning that Trump had zero chance of being found guilty.

He always contradicts himself so supporters like you can make these dumb, intellectually dishonest arguments. He’s done it his entire life like a character on the Sopranos. It’s like you think the context doesn’t exist. Nah.
