Had it today. It was pretty decent except the pickle made it soggy in the middle. The service sucked as usual since it was popeyes. It's like they intentionally hire people that don't give a ****.

Pickles/citric acid cuts the bucketload of grease and fat they dump into the sandwich.

Makes you eat more without feeling sick and bloated, but given how these sandos are 1.5x more unhealthy than a Chick-fil-a sandwhich, you will feel sick and bloated after finishing...just not during.

Popeyes always did give me the runs. That’s why I avoid the place.

I had it yesterday and was disappointed. The flavor profile was OK but it was soggy and just overall lacked texture. I've had Popeye's chicken sandwich before and that was much better with it retaining crispness even with a pickle.

I tried Arbys the other day and that was a terrible mistake. Fish filet was more like a fish fried air pocket- didnt have the solid texture of mashed fish meat. Like comparing a fish stick to an actual fish filet.

My bias for fast food fish is a bit off. I used to jones for filet o fish Fridays and still have a guilty pleasure for ljs.

I don't get the McDonald's file o' fish love. I tried one the other day. It was probably the second one I've had in the last 20 years (?) And... it sucked. Hardly any flavor... cheese, tartar sauce and fish... I dunno... then you thrown all that bread on it. It's like a great way to ruin fish. lol. LJS... not gonna comment on that again, but it's calling to me again, and I know I'll regret it again. Saltiest, nastiest, fried food on the planet.

I haven't had it in over 15 years. But I get canned cranberries vibes with my turkey dinner just thinking about it...

    Exactly.

Don't do it! There's got to be a good fried catfish or fish 'n chips place in the Metroplex.

Not really. I used to drive to Oklahoma and Arkansas for catfish. And... yes, there's still better fish around here than LJS, but there is some mystically evil force that calls to me once a year to try LJS. I can't explain it. It's like a venom with a repeater.

I've heard the same thing about KFC...strange that they share locations, no?

My wife drug us to Florida for spring break. We stopped at Kenney’s seafood in Slidell on the way there and on the way back. I got a speckled trout po-boy both times. I love to catch trout, and nobody fries it up any better than I do.......but why can’t we get something that delicious at a restaurant in Texas? It just ain’t fair. Or fare.

hah! I asked my wife to play that song for me when we were leaving, and she claimed she couldn’t find it on Spotify. I literally told her YouTube would have it. She played something else instead.

That place is seriously awesome. Softshell crab poboy for the win, but everything I've had there has been great.

Made the mistake of looking at their menu, stomach started grumbling, got a seafood craving, and am now cooking shrimp and scallops.

If I lived in New Orleans I'd weigh 300 lbs.
