LeVert is better then Dipo and then you add Allen who is only 22 and will be a top 5 center to pair with Wood and LeVert ..problem is Tilman is to broke to pay Allen this offseason so he settled for a bucks pick

Actually for us it would be the best. That way we would play Nwaba, Brown, Jones and hopefully sign Green!

    Couldn't get MPJ for Harden.

But yeah. Oladipo and a couple of draft picks will do it.

    My lord.

The Rockets should have been tanking the minute Harden was traded. That didn’t happen, they tried to put a bandage on the team by getting Oladipo.

Because the Nuggets were never really interested in Harden. Or atleast not with giving up MPJ and picks.

That's not to say that Oladipo will get us anywhere near MPJ but to provide context.

The only way Nuggets were going to be involved in that trade was to be a 3rd or 4th team getting tucker out of it.

If Wood hadn’t gotten injured, and then Oladipo... the team was rolling. Not going to win a championship... but fringe playoff team.

in current state... sure they’re horrible.

but if healthy a tanking rockets team is still better than at least Minny, Pistons, Wizards. So at best a 4 going into the lottery.

reminder their pick HAS TO BE TOP 4 to be kept. Otherwise the thunder swap for it.

Dipo is not a max player unless a team is very desperate. If he were to resign for a contract similar to Wood's that would be something to consider.

I am well aware of the protections on the Rockets pick and the odds of retaining the pick.

Aiming for being a fringe playoff team is the problem. There is no benefit being a fringe playoff team that gets blown out in the first round.

Trading for Victor Oladipo was stupid, it was extreme hubris. The Rockets won a few more games than they otherwise would have and lost multiple assets. The fact that Silas wanted him only further proves the point that for as good as Silas is at player development, he is equally bad at player evaluation. From day one Oladipo was never an Avenue to anything positive long term for the Rockets.

There is no real point in having Cousins, House, Tucker or Oladipo on this team. Deal them for what value they have. Even Eric Gordon, for as well as he has played should be viewed as someone to be moved at the right time.

There is zero point in postponing the inevitable, don’t half ass anything. Rebuild.

Only the media and some fans made that leap. Some knew from the beginning however that whoever we got back was mostly likely just a temporary asset to be moved again later. Not a bandage, merely a movable good.

No he was a bandage. If they wanted an asset to be moved they could have kept Allen and moved him. They wanted Oladipo to win games. They wanted their flexibility to try and win games with the idea that they could trade him at the deadline if necessary. The problem is they shouldn’t be winning games.... they shouldn’t be trading for 28 year olds coming off a major injury that is looking for a pay day. They really shouldn’t be playing a power forward in his mid 30’s that will be a free agent, they shouldn’t be playing a 30 year old center on a one year deal coming off a major injury. Playing these players is just spinning your wheels... and it may cost them their draft pick this season.

You may be right when it comes to the aims and goals of the Rockets brass, but I think the coach and players are trying to win. And we have just enough talent not to land in the bottom of the cellar and not enough to rise to top contention. Neither the goal of winning or tanking will be easy with the roster the way it is.

Agreed. That is why they need to move some of their veterans.
