    Learn from Spurs.

Tony Parker has 9 assist and 1 TO. SF can tear off Lakers defense easily but his game time decisions are worse than TP.

Yao should learn from Duncan, the most reliable star in Spurs who takes over games when needed "There's not a whole lot of secrets about what we do and what they do," Duncan said. "It's about going out there and imposing your will."

The Los Angeles Lakers had a fourth-quarter plan: Get the ball inside to Shaquille O'Neal. The San Antonio Spurs answered with a better idea: Get the ball outside to Tim Duncan.

Yao should be allowed to shoot from outside

    Yep,

Parker at 21 is better than Francis at 27.

And Duncan is better than Yao....

Tony Parker is a very special player.

Tim Duncan, well.... he's Tim Duncan.

What player's have ever changed their game dramatically throughout their career? I'm not talking increased stats, I mean fewer turnovers/ more assists on a consistant and noticable basis. I can't think of any.

    Touche.

But he sure did take a hit in the 'off-the-elbow-behind-the-back-pass' category.

Did anyone really think he'd tone his game down so much? That came out of left field. He's the last guy I would've predicted to be so reliable.

Williams just needed the right coach. If Francis gets traded and goes to a team with the "right" coach that elevates his game, that will suck.

If SF was coached by a disciplined coache earlier, it may be different.

What point guard has ever flourished in a Jeff Van Gundy system? Larry Brown would have been a great hire, too bad he turned us down.

Umm...I believe Parker only averaged 5.5. Asst/gm and about 2.39 TO's/gm this past season. That's not exactly great, but i give Parker props b/c he is definitly a smart player. Also, it's nice playing with a top 5 player in the league, if Steve had TD, he would easily be one of the best players in the league.

Francis doesn't need to elivate his Game! He is good enough already. he just needs a Team playing his type of basketball. in which he can be the 'Star'.

Yes because TD would knock Steves bock off if he didn't pass the ball.

The difference between Jason Williams and Franics is that Williams was ALWAYS a GREAT passer...so getting him to tone down his turnovers was simply a matter of him not making too many fancy passes, or picking his spots.

Whereas Francis is NOT a good passer, and often recognizes things a second too late and turns it over.

Anyway you look at it, a PG with 13ppg, 5 apg, 2.4 TO pg, 3 rpg doesn't sound like a world-beater to me.

There is no way he is better than SF. I am surprised that there is even an argument here. It is the same to say Yao is better than TD.

So, 7.0 apg qualify you as AWLAYS a GREAT passer while 6.5 apg makes you NOT a good passer. Where is tony parker then?

If Tony Parker had Yao on the Spurs then Parker would not be the player he is now with Duncan. He would be averaging around 12pts, 5asts, and 4to.

Francis playing PG is like a dog taking a calculus test. The dog may be able to get to school real fast but he's not likely to pass the test.

Does anyone want to argue that having a high BBall IQ is not a prerequisite to be a good PG. Is there anyone that wants to argue that Francis does not have a high BBall IQ. Just look at the way Parker ran the offense against the Lakers compared to how Francis did, particualrly in a tight fourth quarter. This is not rocket science, or is it?

you make no sense; how do u come to that conclusion. Yao attract double teams just like ducan. You just want yao to fail and just hate him.

It's easier to run an offense when you are giving the ball to a polished big man who has won 2 rings and 2 or 3 MVP's and is one of the most dominant players in the game. Yao is going to be that someday (hopefully) but he's not even close to that yet.

I don't hate Yao, I don't even know him. Yao didn't attract double teams in the LA series and the only way the Rox were getting points was beacuse of Steve being able to draw the defense and finding the open man. Yao is a descent player, he is just not that good.
