Thanks. Maybe I should clarify; every Senator, House Rep, or citizen supporting the acquittal of the treasonous former president in his impeachment trial should be rounded up and sent to Guantanamo for re-education.
Do you think him lying about the election results daily for two months and encouraging people to gather to allegedly "stop the steal" on January 6 contributed to anything negative that happened that day? I think some people honestly believe he wanted to organize a peaceful march and that, once Congress calmly certified the election results, he was finally going to unveil his first gracious act as a human being by finally conceding the election and telling his followers "oh well, better luck next time. Thanks for coming."
The dummies that stormed the building were incited by many things. Just look at the rhetoric and violence from the left over the last 4 years. Trump could've secured that building better but he isn't on trial for that. His words of "go peacefully march" can not be interpreted as "go run around that building".
Yeah it’s kind of like the people who say their first amendment rights are being violated while they continue to post on social media
Again whether someone else does something isn’t an excuse. I can’t mug someone and say “what about all the other mugging.” Also while yes Trump did say “peacefully” maybe once or twice he also said a lot of other stuff. Since you brought up the Left do you believe then that the Lwft doesn’t foment violence because most on the Left say they are for peaceful protests? You seem to recognize there is a causal chain of events that led to the storming of the Capitol yet go to great lengths not making the obvious connection.
I think you're saying that rhetoric and violence from the left over the last 4 years had as much or more to do with the Capitol riot than the POTUS spending months before and after the election describing a valid and court-upheld election as "stolen." I'll just agree to disagree. But I take you as sincere. I just think that if the POTUS had conceded, as all other losing candidates have eventually done, and if he hadn’t had his campaign organize a rally to coincide with certification, then the tragic events of that day do not happen. Maybe I’m wrong.
I think at best it can be said that Trump might not have expected things to get as violent as they did but I thinks it’s obvious his intention was to intimidate Congress into forestalling certification and ultimately overturning the election. As has been noted in as President that is a betrayal of your oath to uphold the Constitution and the laws of the US.
I don’t think you can rule out that he wished there was a massacre. Apparently he was very excited about the storming of the Capital and the people around him was even shocked at his behavior.
You are wrong. 75% of Republican would still believe the election was stolen if Trump had conceived. Throw all the razors out and let's just go with Trump's Razor, where it's always someone else fault.
Man watching these GOP senators have a slow death in quicksand..... The third party no matter if its started by Trump or the Lincoln Project will set both parties back for years.... It would be like taking a power house high school football team like Northshore and splitting the talent down the middle... one side may have more talent than the other, but they want have enough talent to win the entire thing...
