Even the Patriots realized soon enough that God doesn’t give a **** what happens on a football field. What the Texans are doing is completely unprecedented... and if this wasn’t such a soft media market, would deservedly be getting more heat/ridicule. But instead you have Pancakes treading lightly because he wants to keep his free cafeteria access at NRG...
Using Tampa Bay as evidence that Brady is more important to organizational success than Belichick is silly. They just held the most prolific offense of all time to zero touchdowns. That wasn't Brady unless you want to make an argument that Brady attracted some key talent but any star qb will attract talent especially Watson.
There is a Patriot way. Have a HOF QB on a reasonable contract. Have a HOF coach. Buy low and sell high on trades. Be tough negotiating contracts. Discipline and attention to detail. The Texans have done none of those things.
If only the Texans defense could've held the Chiefs offense to just 9 points last year, instead of give up 51 points.
Of course Brady didn't win this latest SB by himself. But at the same time, it's not like he was just a game manager with a good defense either. He threw 3 TDs and 2 of them were absolute DARTS. Also, no INTs. This team doesn't go nearly as far, much less win a SB, with Jameis Winston at the helm. Even with everyone Brady brought in. Obvious point is obvious. But yeah, the Texans need to quit trying to emulate other teams and just figure out a way to win their own way. First it was the Steelers, then Broncos, now Patriots. We're 0-3 trying it this way.
Seems like it's both. I was rooting for Brady to rub it in the Patriots face, but I believe Brady learned how to be great under Belichek.
The Patriots had their best defensive players (Hightower and Chung) who opted out, also they lost another 3 key defensive players to free agency, and to add not having a good QB and your best WR (Edelman) only playing half of the season, also Brady couldnt do it without all the offensive weapons like Gronk, AB and Fournette that hired to help him, so Brady is a great QB, but you need great players and a great coach. I believe Brady with this Texans team of this year, he wouldnt have sniffed the playoffs, and with Watson on the Patriots, they would have played in the playoffs.
Belicheck did get Matt Cassell to deliver an 11-5 season after Brady tore his ACL -- because of a rule quirk they didn't make the playoffs, but probably would have made a deep run.
The Pats went 11-5 with Matt Cassel and missed the playoffs. To be honest though I'm more impressed with them going 7-9 with their QBs only throwing 10 TDs compared to 14 interceptions and losing so many key players on defense.
Hopefully Cal McNair goes and gets jacked off at a massage parlor so that Easterby will be so offended he can no longer work here.
There is not a patriot's way without Brady. He dictates the culture just like all the GOATS do. Lebron and MJ were the guys that made the players on the bull and Cleveland buy in. Dream was the guy who slapped the taste out of Max's mouth. When the best player comes to practice early, leave late, and studies as hard as he does, everyone follows. Part of the Brady mystique was because he won 3 superbowls in his first few seasons. No one questions a guy that has won 3 superbowls. When they tell you that if you do XYZ, they will get you a win, you believe it and you do it. It's a simple as that.
Easterculley will lead us to championships through the power of positive thinking and of course prayer circles.
The patriot way is keep the qb happy and have a great defense + plus surround the qb with players. Texans can't even keep the qb happy much less create a resemblance of a team, but keep prayin for that miracle. what a dumbass franchise, and the same posters that keep defending incompetence.
The bucs didn't have choir boys on their teams neither did the Patriots. Belichick had no issues with killers on his team as long as they won.
