Its possible that he might still be here but I will realise that the Management didn't either have the guts to do what is needed or they got the new starting Point Guard and Steve is now a Two Guard. If he stays he should go back to playing his open court game like he did in the playoffs. He and Yao Ming should not be on the court at the same time, as their games are not suited to one another.
Like some have said, I wouldn't mind a Steve trade if we got back value, but I have a bad feeling that JVG will get rid of Steve for role players like the EW/Battie trade with Boston that almost happened. I'm not necessarily opposed to role players, but IMO, they have to be perfect role players at positions of need for us not to lose out in a trade. I have a feeling the Rockets will trade Steve as a flawed, overpaid PG instead of as a two-time All-Star.
If Yao Steve and Cat are all still on the team next year I'll just stop watching the Rockets. Watching stupid ball is bad for my health.
lol; more than likely i bet they will all be here. This team does need a change but i dont see CD doin anything.
You're kidding right?? Steve don't equal the value of Bibby especially in Playoffs games. I am a Kings fan and I have no doubt the Kings would be that stupid to trade Bibby for Steve straight up. So don't even try!
After thinking about it...I like the Houston to keep Steve because he has so much talents and athletiscm and you can't replace that from anybody. YES the team turnover too much, yes the team don't pass that much but then it's because this team doesn't have good passers...that's why it has the lowest assist/game in the league. I agreed somewhat that breaking up this team will not improve the team but I think there are some players that need to go and some position that need to be addressed for this team to improve. First, I think Mo Taylor had to go. Why? He's too selfish on the court...too one-dimensional player. He never look to pass much as soon as you give him the ball. He only had one way to go ...that is shoot the ball even against double teamming...even forcing. I would get rid of him in the offseason. I like his heart and determination though. Second, the Rox need another superstar to really improve this team. They need someone like Rasheed Wallace to replace Cato lack of shooting touch from outside to compliment Yao. Cato is good at rebounding, block and defense but Wallace can do that and play offense too. 3rd, Rox need some solid bench players, Mark Jackson had to go, he didn't do anything to improve the team. Piakowski had to go, the guy is a joke. Adrian Griffin had to go, he ain't good enough. Rox need to bring in an above average backup PG to help Steve. A PG that at least help out there. 4th, Rox should keep the following players for next year: Yao, Steve, Mobley, JJ, Cato (as backup), Boki, Spoon, Paggett. However with all that being said, I am still leaving out the option for some trades though if they're favorable. Like for example, I would trade Francis for McGrady or Steve Nash and i would get Sheed Wallace in here, then the roster would be awesome and ready to go.
I'll put $100 in the tip jar, if Francis is still on the team for the 1st regular season game next year. Bye bye Francis.
The fact that JVG's comments suggest that Francis is staying is some of the most depressing news ever. I simply can't watch him play PG anymore. And JVG said he is not suited for the SG, which is obvious (size, defense, and shooting ability). I am a die-hard Rocket's fan, and I don't know what I am going to do, but I just can't watch Francis play another year. He is without a doubt the most frustrating player to watch ever. He is known at our house as "wash-out man," whatever he gives you in positives he takes away with some of the most boneheaded mistakes I have ever seen at any level. He did adjust his game this year, but overall, he is still the "wash-out man." I will wait and see, but there has got to be some serious reconfiguration, a real "splash," the "splash" that never came last season. If not, I will find other things to do.
same way i feel; hopefully JVG is just trying to bring up his value or sometihn. Cause it is faustrating watching him turn the ball over and do dumb mistakes over and over.
I don't care bout the equal value that much. A RIGHT piece is priceless. I don't think Marvs would trade Nash for SF + Cat, although the latter is of much value. Samely, SAC wouldn't jump on such deal at the cost of Bibby.
Man oh man, Doc spread the news/ rumours too early ... I had hoped that we could fill that tip jar a little better! I don't see any more takers now.
HT, regardless of the trade fever Doc Rocket just ignited, this is a gutty bet. I can't take the bet because I think the Rocks will do it, but there is a huge chance they won't.
Unless we get a superstar in return, SF should stay. There are tons of reasonable trades that can make this team better w/o having to move major parts. It's soooo early in the offseason, anything can happen, up into the NBA season. Ya'll are making it seem like the Rox are in such a hurry to deal. Trades like the SF/Cato/Bostjan for Rose/Marshall, etc...are trades that seem like the Rox are desperate for a deal. SF for Brand would be interesting, but Brand has yet to have a winning season!!!
