Definitely glad I have given it another shot. I think I was thrown initially when I went in assuming it to be a full blown comedy. Having recalibrated expectations I've binged four episodes this afternoon and will definitely finish all 9 before tonight. Really enjoying it.
This is a great show and a very welcomed happy show in the middle of the crappiest year ever. Somebody Feed Phil is another positive show that I really enjoyed. Phil is a goofball but I came to like his brand of silly after only a few episodes.
This latest episode (and last of the season) was the most unfunny episode, when compared with every other episode from the rest of the season. It's like they tried to shoehorn in all the "fish out of water" jokes they could. I did think it was neat that right after the Lasso Special, they celebrated the way an American football team would...not realizing that they had to immediately go back on defense. All that being said, this show is special. And season 2 is going to be so great. Might even be the best show on Apple TV.
The Championship is the biggest slog of a league and most competitive in the world. 46 games in tiny towns and massive stadiums. So much material there to use for next season.
Ted Lasso is getting at least a third season! WOOHOO! https://tvline.com/2020/10/28/ted-lasso-renewed-season-3-apple-tv-plus/
I can’t believe how good this show was, I just started watching last week and have told anyone who will hear me about it. I tell them that I can’t explain why it’s so good but that it is about leadership and seeing the good in others through the eyes of Coach Lasso. I was truly inspired in the way a fictional character connects, recognizes, appreciates, and motivates every person he comes in contact with. I am particularly telling coworkers about it and want to try to recommend it to my one good boss among other mediocre managers. I had glanced over this thread but remembered the recommendations and I can’t wait for season 2 and 3
Just finished it recently. Absolutely loved it. I was hesitant, as a soccer player, because almost no fictional accounts of soccer ever get it right. Granted the "plays" in the finale would never EVER happen, the action was legit. Aside from that, Jason Sudeikis was awesome. I thought it was really well done and can't wait for season 2.
Agreed. Finished a season rewatch yesterday. Still got me in the feels. Sudeikis was surprisingly great but the entire show had a bunch of great performances.
late to the party but it was a great show. Knocked it out in 3 days. Can't wait for the next season. Side note, Ted Lasso is probably how Jack Easterby imagines himself
This show was so much better than it had any right to be. I agree with everyone that the Championship will provide some great fodder for the next season.
