He did not say she was sincere and the way she said the apology will definitely make her lose cred she was grovelling.
cred from the MAGA crowd? the only way she loses her "cred" to them is if she turns her back on trump
I started watching on CNN some of her statement today and had to stop watching. The complete lack of self-awareness or responsibility on her part was nauseating. I agree her constituents have been deprived an voice on those committees but that's both her fault for not handling things better and her constituent's faults for voting her in. If she really wants to help her constituents she should resign and ask Kemp to appoint a replacement.
Marjorie Taylor Greene said she stopped posting conspiracies after her campaign. Surprise, surprise: she lied In her Thursday floor speech before the House voted to strip her of all her committee assignments, Republican Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene said that since she started running for office, she never voiced support for any of the extremist conspiracy theories that she had previously touted on social media. However, that's a lie. "I never said once during my entire campaign QAnon," Greene said in her Thursday speech. "I never once said any of the things that I am being accused of today during my campaign. I never said any of these things since I have been elected for Congress. These were words of the past." To be clear, Greene wasn't "accused" of saying extremist things in the past — she outright said them using her own social media account. It's not an accusation that she advocated for violence against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and former President Barack Obama, said that an airplane never hit the Pentagon during the September 11 terrorist attacks, said all school shootings were staged events meant to increase firearm regulations and said that wealthy Jews used a space laser to start the 2020 West Coast wildfires. She said them. Full stop. But as recently as January 31, Green posted a tweet that basically called anyone who opposed her a pedophile, a dog whistle to her QAnon supporters. "What would the list of the anti-Trump pedos and associates look like?" her tweet began. "It would likely contain all of the people currently frothing with MTG hate. List though. Isn't that what they do? They put us all on list. After me, they are coming for more Republicans on their list." Pedos, in this case, isn't merely a gross insult accusing her opponents of child rape, its a thinly veiled reference to QAnon, a conspiracy theory that thinks that Democrats and Hollywood elites are running an international, Satanist cannibalistic child-sex trafficking and torture ring, and it fits in with Greene's past statements in support of QAnon. In the past, Greene has accused former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton of slicing off a child's face and wearing it before drinking the child's blood. She also accused Obama of starting a citizenship program for undocumented immigrants who were brought to the U.S. as children just so he could molest kids and harvest their organs. While she may not have actually uttered the word "QAnon" since she began her run for office, she doesn't need to. QAnon supporters are great at picking up dog whistles and keywords like "pedos" to identify their enemies and allies. And Greene knows as well as anyone else that when you accuse someone of raping and slaughtering children, you're also calling for violence against that person, whether you outright state it or not.
I was driving home last night and I looked down and I was driving 45 MPH.........and I was like holy hell its a sign, Trump will be back BUT then I went to the store and spent 45 dollars exactly and I almost lost my %^&^$, 2 signs in one afternoon!!!!! See, its all true
I'll post this here than starting a new thread. This is the women who flipped out in Target in AZ and is now talking about how much of a cult QAnon feels like. She also points out how the "save the children" angle is very powerful and one reason why we've seen a lot of women following QAnon.
My gut instinct is that there has to be extreme circumstances in order to consider expelling a member of Congress. But This video was shot after MTG was sworn into Congress. One has to think that this meets the expel criteria. There is obviously zero chance of that happening. Pelosi does not have the votes and would only proceed if the Rs promised enough votes, which will never happen with the current set of Rs.
I'd be willing to cut a deal with Congress, expel Marjorie Taylor Green and we'll let you get rid of Eric Swalwell...not a fair trade but it's the most I'd be willing to give up.
I doubt that the Republicans would go for Green for Swalwell trade. Swalwell is a lightly regarded bench player while Green is a hot rookie getting a lot of attention. They might press for a top tier player maybe a member of the Squad plus another player. Perhaps the teams can work out a deal involving Green and Gohmert for Swalwell, Tim Ryan and a progressive to be named later but they allow the Republicans to unload Kinzinger, a rookie who isn't meshing with the rest of the team and agree to pick up the remainder of Liz Cheney's contract.
