It would be weird but if they really wanted to you could do the dunk contest, 3 point shootout and skills contest remotely. I don't know how it would play out but the memes would be great.

 

So these same players won't complain if their salaries go down next year because there is less revenue to split between the owners and players when they don't have the added all-star revenue?

Are they contractually obligated to participate in the ASG? It's not technically a guarantee that you're chosen for it. And I'm sure it's in a lot of contracts that you'll get MORE money if you're selected to play in it...

...so with all these dudes saying they're against it, even though they'd get more money by playing in it, that should tell you something.

OP starts a topic that didn't deserve its own thread. Then, I guess they edit the post to reflect how people are dumb if they can't decipher the sarcasm behind text on a screen, even though you literally have to say its sarcasm because it's only text on a screen.

As a youth, I always enjoyed watching hakeem in the all star game. I remember imploring the coach to put him in. Not a big fan of the game since then.

 

I don't think anyone gives a **** about that game anyway except the 1st timers... Extend the roster so that the Woods', Zions' , and Sabonis's can play if they choose to... I'm sure a few folks would tune in and the NBA can salvage their lil tradition...

The NBA has made this monster. I don’t even really blame the players, they have basically been told by Silver and owners that everything is cool, they can do anything they want. They can put whatever slogans on the court. They can threaten to walk out of playoff games and then have the league reschedule them.

 

I love watching the nba, from the first tip of the first game to the end of the season. I bet I have not watched an all star game in a decade though. I probably enjoyed the three point contest more now I think about it.

 

It is about the money. Their salaries are in part-based on the money from an all star game with real all stars.

The players wanted a shortened season this year. Owners were open to it possibly but said salaries go down based on games.... all of a sudden these same assholes that claimed they would take a stand were ready for a full season
