Our strategy should be to flip our useful expiring contracts for other expiring contracts and assets, then use the cap space to sign guys to above MLE deals, who can then be traded for even more assets. This is the way.
3team https://tradenba.com/trades/AXWAF0v6E 4 team stupidity that works https://tradenba.com/trades/4A1zZSntL
Yeah, 6ers are the team in best contention for a ring and they give up one of their best players for the equivalent of a poopoo platter. EGo is in running for 6th Man, Simmons is an All Star and DPOY candidate, even with his flaws. Sorry, not seeing win-win.
On second thought, I don't know if Orl goes for this. Bamba was the #6 pick. I would not be surprised if they want a first. Maybe something like: McClemore+Exum+FrP for Bamba+Okeke
I really don’t get the infatuation with Bamba unless they’re going to give him to us for basically nothing. He was a reach and just isn’t a very good basketball player right now. I know bigs usually take longer to develop, but I’m just not seeing him being a reliable contributor for us.
Dream Trade that will never happen but could. Rox In: Middleton, Gordon, Bamba & filler Out: Oladipo, Tucker, Gordon, B Mac, Exum & picks (most of them) Bucks In: Oladipo/ Tucker/ B Mac/ Clark/ ?? Picks Out: Middleton & Filler Magic In: Gordon/ Exum/ ?? Picks Out: Gordon/ Bamba/ Clark use our picks like cash to make the deal happen. We know most everything we have is a sure thing less Porter & Bamba. So much better than risk of the picks not working out or even waiting. Find more talent like Tate & Wood. Even Martin & Jones have promise and cost nothing to obtain and develop. Basically more of Stone’s stuff. Wall/ */ Middleton/ Gordon/ Wood * Porter/ Jones/ Nwaba Bench: Tate/ House/ Cousins-Bamba/ Brown We would be in a better place now and going forward and able to make deep play off runs now and for years to come.
Not a bad trade...but i wouldn't want to give up picks in this...maybe the protected portland or detroit one but thats about it
^^ This. If not the sixers, i could see the celtics giving up a lottery protected for mclemore and tucker...but who knows ainge doesn't trade much unless he feels like he's fleecing the other team
It's all about potential, both of his fit and of the asking price. We could use a center right now and it probably wouldn't take much. I don't think I've seen anyone here suggest we trade a first rounder for him. He's 7 feet tall, athletic, and has three point range. That's a hard package to find even if he isn't a good player yet. People are down for a low risk/medium reward move in a position of need. I'm personally meh on Bamba. I thought he had a ton of potential coming out of college, possibly Capela with a jumper. He'll clearly never reach that level, but maybe he can be a rich man's Thon Maker. If the asking price is the same I'd rather target Nerlens Noel, who also doesn't appear to be much in demand but who I think would be a great fit here defensively. He was great for OKC off the bench last year, getting a lot of blocks and deflections in limited minutes. He can't guard big physical centers but neither could Wood.
Bamba seems lazy to me. You have to have a certain personality to rise from the ashes like Wood did but Bamba seems more like a Thabeet than a Wood. I'd just trade Tucker for a super young raw center like Timelord, Naz Reid, Jalen Smith, or Isaiah Stewart and a pick. Could be fun rolling a young athletic center out there again like the baby Capela days.
Rockets are Rebuilding, They are Not Contending. Players on Rookie Contracts and 1st Rd Picks is the Goal. Trading a 28 yr old for another 30 year old doesn't make sense. The Rockets need more Young Talent Needs at Center and Forward, Young Point Guard JaeSean Tate 25 Christian Wood 25 Sterling Brown 25 Mason Jones 22 Kevin Porter Jr. 20 KJ Martin 20
