I'd rather just see guys like Paxton, Cruz, Abbott, and Crenshaw leave the United States. They showed their loyalty to Trump as he coddled Putin, and rose up against Democracy by trying to steal the votes of the American people. They are the types Putin would love to have as his boot lickers. Maybe they should all just move to Russia.

That would potentially add 3 Democrat leaning states vs 2 Red. The power of the Republican Party in Texas is the power of the overall land size of the rural voters. Breaking up Texas gives more power to the cities. Given its Geographics, Houston, Austin, and Dallas would almost surely have to be in different states and would overwhelm the surrounding rural areas with their voting power. And it’s obvious that seceding is illegal and would be equivalent to what the confederacy did during the civil war. How do all these “law and order” Conservatives justify breaking the law and openly committing treason? Lastly - if State officials can illegally secede then there’s no laws stating that City’s cannot then claim City-State status and ask to rejoin the union. Imagine the state of Texas where the city of Houston is now the state of Houston. They would control a major port of exchange and the center of energy infrastructure for the entire country. Losing Houston alone would devastate the new country of Texas. Also Dallas is at the north end of the state. Losing Dallas also could cripple the state economically. Just so many ways that this fever dream of seceding is utter stupidity.
LOL, the only relevant cities in TX are the Democratic ones...the rest of the state can go secede, they’ll be begging for handouts in about a month TX without Houston, Dallas, and Austin might as well be Alabama, Mississippi, or insert trash state that has nothing going for it
