He was amazing at OSU, the engine of those teams, very versatile but everyone always thought he was too small to make it to the next level. I'm glad he did not give up!
He's just a pure ballplayer. Too often ones physical limitations immediately remove them from consideration. Hes rock solid in almost every way that doesn't show up on the stat sheets. Amazing find.
My only wish is that Tate does the American History X stomp on Harden when he falls on the floor. Too soon? **** you HOF. lol
His game reminds me most of Ron Artest. Obviously, he has a long way to go on both ends to reach that All-Star, All-Defense level. But the combination of size, quickness, and unpolished but effective offensive skills seems similar.
Artest was much more gifted offensively, in addition to being bigger/stronger/quicker. I think Tate is more of a mix between Marcus Smart and Draymond Green but without all the whining.
Man, the more I think about Tate, the more excited I get. He's the same age as Christian Wood. Both are due to get paid when Wall comes off the books. If he can be the #2 young piece of our retooling, then we are in a great position to find that #3.
