It’s probably the most common nickname that is actually used by people who know and hang out with Wood. It’s natural for one syllable last names to use a first initial and last name. Especially when the first initial ends with an “ee” sound. D House E Go(radon) but J Tate and J Wall don’t sound as good as an “e” sounding initial.

I apologize for mentioning the Crucifix nickname that was used in Detroit, as I was not thinking that it could be viewed as offensive. People wear crosses all the time and I am a believer as well, but I can certainly see where that nickname could be viewed in a different aspect. On a more humorous note, someone on VMaxwell’s twitter actually came up with the nickname “Born Again”.
