Jujutsu Kaisen is an awesome with some of the best ending music. Wouldn't expect something so jazzy and funky.
Wire - The First Letter (credited as "WIR") Wire - Send The First Letter is actually an underrated album - much better than the lackluster "Manscape".
Wire - Object 47 Wire - Red Barked Tree "Object 47" is one of my personal favorite albums of theirs - not as well known as their first 3 or as good as "Send" but still a fine album.
Sammy Nestico - On the Sammy Side of the Street (Just discovered. And I have to add, putting a huge smile on my face.)
System of a Down (or SOAD, as the kids call them) is now my 9 year old boys' favorite band. This is either really cool...or really bad. Can't quite decide. I'm leaning towards really cool....
Wire - Nocturnal Koreans Wire - Silver/Lead So, I am going to finish the run through Wire's discography today as I have their 2 albums released in 2020 left. Then it will be time to go through the OMD discography. I am saying goodbye (for now) to reggae and free jazz. I am going to add heavy metal and hard rock to go with electronic/ambient.
This should go in both threads, Listening and Watching: https://fpg.festival.sundance.org/film-info/5fd045f22885b86a95946744
So I am finished with Wire's discography (plus the one solo album by Colin Newman) - here are my ratings (all out of 5 stars): Pink Flag - 5 Chairs Missing - 5 154 - 5 A-Z - 4.5 The Ideal Copy - 3.5 A Bell Is a Cup - 4.5 IBTABA - 3 Manscape - 2 The Drill - Not rated (don't have it and seems to be more of an EP) The First Letter (as WIR) - 3.5 Send - 4.5 Object 47 - 4.5 Red Barked Tree - 3.5 Change Becomes Us - 4.5 Wire (self-titled) - 4 Nocturnal Koreans - 3.5 Silver/Lead - 4 Mind Hive - 4.5 10:20 - 4 IMO, Wire will never be able to top their first 3 albums but their latest incarnation (Wire Phase III) has had some really good albums like Send, Object 47, Change Becomes Us, and Mind Hive. The First Letter is highly underrated and Colin Newman's A-Z is a great album as well.
Now, I am going through OMD's discography - started with their 1st 2 albums: OMD - s/t OMD - Organisation
Haven't heard Wire in a while. I have the album, A Bell is a Cup Until It Is Struck, but I'm going to give these a listen
I have a demo copy of Dazzle Ships from my days working in a record store. Some of the low frequency rumbles from that album would rattle glass and cause the shop next door to complain. Especially at extreme volumes...
Not into the whole "poptimism" thing, but I am definitely okay with Charli. She works with some pretty talented producers.
