It's not a fluke, it's just stupid. We're about to bypass an opportunity at a top 4 pick so that Tilman can generate one round of playoff revenue.
Don’t think it’s a fluke, but it is really surprising. They probably are not as good as they look right now, I’m not expecting a championship run or anything, but they are looking shockingly good all things considered. Right now, with the defense and the shooting and depth, they could probably hang with anyone. Is it sustainable? Who knows.
the art of tanking, right? Trade away all the veterans, stock piling picks. By the way, did you see that stick chop of OKC of 19 year old. I kept thinking he’ll no drafting bunch of these guys - at best solid rotation players. 18 picks OKC is holding right now for the next 8 years. How I don’t even know how a OKC fan is feeling right now, but I know I don’t want to feel that way. We pretty much have to have the worst record in the league to secure a top 4 pick. No.
We dont actually just bottom 4. I can tell you OKC fans are feeling fine lol. They have a ton of assets.
What happens when the pick turns out to not be a top 20 NBA player? Do you just tank again, and again, and again? When does it stop? Is Minnesota the blueprint you are after? Personally, in a big city like Houston that has been proven to snag FA, I say CULTURE CULTURE CULTURE. Build an organization of discipline and WINNING and TOUGHNESS AND THAT BIG OLE STEPHEN SILAS SMILE. ANYTHING ELSE IS BULLSHIT LOSER TALK, BABY!
Lakers sucked their first few games together with Davis. Two losses can be blamed on COVID. This is a good team that is finally playing at full strength in a new system.
Rockets are playing more iso and switch than drop or zone during their win streak. And Rockets have not been very good in drop coverage. Although that is probably Boogie's best defensive scheme.
It's nice having an offense not reliant only on one player, who ultimately gets double teamed every other possession.
Right so what we did to the "cupcake" is what good teams do to "cupcake teams", we beat'em by 30 points.
OKC fan to another OKC fan, "Woohoo! We're gonna be good in 5-7 more years, baby!" Second OKC fan, "We suck." "Yeah, but assets!" "How am I supposed to cheer for an asset right now though?" Rockets fans: Like this-
Cupcake schedule but most teams in the NBA are cupcake opponents for the Rockets. Look at the West, does Memphis scare you? Golden State has a crappy point differential while loading wins against teams like Detroit and Minnesota. There’s like no scary teams in the West besides the top 4 and maybe Phoenix.
Im more interested to see how our defense looks against top tier offenses. If it continues to look good then, this is not a fluke at all.
Not a fluke, but beating up on mediocre teams needs to be taken in context. I am happy, overjoyed in fact that this team is coming together and winning, but until they start beating fully loaded top teams, they are still on the outside looking in as far as top contention is concerned.
