No its not. Winning in professional sports should never be underestimated. Just on a pride standpoint for athletes, nobody goes out there to lose. I give our squad all the credit for this winning streak. Every game this team has showed us something new to be proud of.
Without the weight of "expectations," they are definitely playing loose. Lot of guys with a lot to prove right now. They're hungry.
We’ve outscored the opponent by 30+ the past 3 games. Granted 2 of those games we were down big before doing so but we created 30 point turnarounds. that’s indicative of something good brewing. Our D is definitely legit and our offense continues to improve. gotta wait til we play a contender to really characterize it but playing lesser teams doesn’t invalidate what we’ve done.
Nope. Elite defense and unselfish play, that’s our identity. On nights where we our hot from three....forget about it. That’s gravy.
I mean winning at this clip is but I think we're good enough to get into the playoffs... Not likely to beat any top 4 teams outside of Utah...I think we could take Utah.
Seems fluky in the greater context of the Covid season and schedule. We got mostly healthy which has led to some consistency. We are red hot from 3s.
So true. Let’s keep the expectations low for these guys that way we won’t be disappointed. For a rebuilding year this is very nice. I like the fact that Silas plays more guys. They’re playing loose & some good ball.
It’s for sure been a very easy schedule- I’m not too fond of the winning streak, The positives to come out of the winning streak -coach Silas looks like a keeper possibly and a few players trade values have begin to trend in a positive direction- I hope that Tillman has the balls to take the backlash, to trade several of these players and begin the aggressive rebuilding process. This is fool’s Gold! We haven’t beaten any body! This team as constructed is middle of the pack at best... and that is actually last place. I hope we don’t compete for no reason- We should be pursuing lottery balls..
We literally just made 28 3s in a game. It's the NBA...in the western conference. We're doing what we're supposed to do so no it's not a fluke. Is LA a fluke for losing to Detroit? Is Brooklyn a fluke for losing to the Cavs?
All of those threes were rotation shot in the flow of the offense. Not like DAntonis non-rhythm shooting teams. It starts with defense of course but then you offense needs to collapse the defense with the threat at the rim. The Rockets have all the ingredients to win a lot of regular season games. What they don’t have is someone who is a deadly isolation player who can make miracles happen at the end of a tight game. But that’s okay... it’s super early in the rebuild/re-tool and you never know who can be acquired or be developed. If Wood can develop a post game then maybe that’s your ticket to a playoff go-to option ala Dirk with the Mavs. But the fact that the Rockets traded their superstar and are already this promising and competitive in the rebuild is a pretty awesome thing. The three point shooting wont be sustainable but they have all the tools to make winning in the regular season sustainable.
We traded Harden for Dipo. There is no fluke about it, this is the same team. We were going to be a 40 win team and that is what will happen if we don't make any moves. We will always be a 40 win team if we don't make changes.
We haven't beat the toughest of opponents, but this streak is legit. We're killing teams and the defense alone prevents us from being bottom of the barrel from here on out. I think we're as good as OKC was last year, competing in the 5-8 seed range.
It's not a fluke at all, but a 6 game win streak is not a big deal at all for a decent team. The level of competition fluctuates throughout the schedule, and we're winning games a decent team should win, so that's pretty normal.
Close games that the Rockets won were thanks to solid defense. Also, the ball distribution is good which is helping players finding a lot of open and semi-uncontested shots. 7 players in double-digit scoring tonight, and on avg 5 players are scoring in double-digits in the previous 5 games. 3's can be a fluke but consistently multiple players scoring in double-digits does not seem to be a fluke. That is just a good unselfish offense. Lastly, the Rockets are really hammering the bad teams rather than making it a close affair.
I think this is a good team. Considering all the factors...new coach, Harden, injuries, covid....this team has still been able to win games. Wood olidipo and wall haven't even played together much with all three of them together. A fully healthy Rockets team is legit dangerous. I know one thing, next time we play the Lakers if we have a full squad lebron won't be doing all that clown **** again.
