If Republicans were running the trial against a Democrat and they knew the Dem Senators were part of the issue at hand in the impeachment subject, they’d use the venue to berate those Democratic Senators to their faces. At this point, I don’t know that it doesn’t make sense to use the trial to just straight up make it about them. Make them all look like QAnon extremists.
Won't matter if trump actually defended himself with crazy rudy as his co-counsel. The republican senators already signaled they will vote to acquit him no matter what he did and no matter what evidence is brought forward. Because ultimately, party before country.

It's now looking like a foregone conclusion that Trump won't be convicted.. At this point it's questionable what sort of defense he will put up and given what most of the Republican Caucus had indicated it wouldn't matter whether Trump mounts a defense or not. With that yes the Democrats should press the trial to get as much evidence out in the open and put it on the shoulders of the Republicans to excuse the insurrection on them.
The dems play too Much softball, you denigrate and take extreme stances to those silent and equate them to being culpable. These gop senators are pieces of ****. The democratic party is full of ineffective people that just can’t ever capitalize on a situation. It took a president declaring a virus that killed 400K people a hoax for them to get their guy to win

At this point I want Trump's lawyers to use the defense that the election was stolen and rehash all of the claims of fraud that Trump wants them to. I would be happy to see Guiliani, Lin Wood and Sydney Powell up there defending him. It will be a cringeworthy spectacle but it will remind the country again that what happened on Jan. 6th wasn't just something that happened but had been fed by rhetoric made by the President of the United States, his supporters and lawyers following his orders.
I've stopped pretending any of it matters..or that all of a sudden a group of people capable of voting for this man will see the light. I wish I was wrong. I'm probably not because stuff.

Don't get me wrong. I expect even with all of that Trump will still not be found guilty. It's clear the GOP is too beholden to actually do something about him. I want to make it as difficult and embarrassing for them to vote to cast the not guilty vote. I want to see Lindsey Graham give some self-righteous speech after Guiliani has figuratively and literally stunk the place up.
