Not sure if I can agree with you. There have been years of BOB's influence and Easterby's "cultural" impact since J-Jo's comments. Their bad decisions can have lead to them treating their players badly.

Presentation and how you command your audience or an individual is one important part that we shouldn't underestimated but at the same time we shouldn't overestimate it either. We need gamers... we need guys that can perform and produce in the moment of truth consistently and with precision. I'll be excited when I see change in that particular area. Texans still to me get too excited about things related to image and belief. I'm get excited about things related to who we are within and the truth that we are that champion because we do it in action.

    https://www.houstonchronicle.com/texas-sports-nation/john-mcclain/article/McClain-Inside-the-Texans-process-to-hire-15910803.php

Jack Easterby, the executive vice president of football operations, played an influential role in Caserio’s hiring. Caserio and Easterby became friends while working together with the Patriots, and now they’re working closely with the Texans.

Easterby is a huge fan of McCown’s and was behind the quarterback’s interview for the head coaching job even though he’s never been an assistant coach. McCown, who has one year left on his contract, is expected to be part of the offensive staff.

Frazier and Culley interviewed at controlling owner Janice McNair’s home. She likes to be informed with what’s happening with the team her late husband, Bob McNair, founded, but she’s given her son the power to make important decisions.

Janice McNair was sold on Culley, and so was her son, said two people familiar with the process. When Caserio and Culley were together Wednesday night after the lengthy interview and subsequent conversations, the general manager called Cal McNair and made his recommendation.

Caserio put Culley on his cell. McNair asked Culley if he’d like to be the head coach of the Texans. Culley, a lifelong boxing fan, admitted in his Zoom interview Friday that he was floored. When he accepted, the search was officially over, and Culley became the fourth coach in Texans’ history after Dom Capers, Kubiak and O’Brien.

Did you read the SI article about Easterby? The players were literally saying the Texans front office was like Game of Thrones. There was a player who thought Easterby had someone following them in a car spying on them.

It doesn’t sound like they are treated badly, but are worried that if they don’t act a certain way, that Easterby will try to get rid of them like he did Hopkins. That has to affect morale, and make you feel like you have to look over your shoulder all the time.

That’s a big time hire. He’s really well regarded as a coach.

Sure. They have done well. Not exceptional. Not above expectation. Just... well. No probowlers since Megatron in 15.

According to the rationale by some here, the Texans had a great receivers coach when Hopkins had his best games/years but a bad WR coach whenever he missed or had a bad game, or wasn’t on the team.

It’s looking like the Texans really dodged a bullet by passing on Bieniemy. Just a colossal embarrassment for an offense on the biggest possible stage. Luckily they were able to keep Tim Kelly, who could not have possibly performed worse than EB.
