he did a good job on Harden, but at the end of the day, Harden still averaged 30 on really good percentages and excellent efficiency in that series against OKC

The notion that Dort defended Harden exceptionally well is not a myth but rather a fact easily proven by data. Harden avg 30 on excellent efficiency during that series and Dort shutting him down during that series isn't mutually exclusive. The rockets actively and routinely hunt out mismatches for Harden by forcing opponents to switch via screening. Versus OKC they were even more intent to get Dort switched off Harden. The result? Though Harden had immense difficulties scoring on Dort, he killed other Thunder defenders, especially Adams, Shroeder and SGA.
He is getting more creative in finding ways to make his team lose. Oh wait! Maybe now they have a chance to win
