Forget the Impeachment let the DOJ handle the riot!

    It is clear that Republicans seemed to be involved and in some cases coordinating the Riots, they are not going to vote to convict and have their transgressions revealed.

    IMHO, this should be turned over the FBI and DOJ and investigate, let them handle it, forget the Impeachment - have the Senators say.....we agree to censure, but also that we know the DOJ is investigating for criminal charges.

    That is the only way there is true accountability IMHO.

    We can't trust Congress people to do the right thing......so let's let the judicial branch handle it.

    The fear here is that it could create public perception even amongst independents that this is a political witch hunt as Trump's main political rival is the President.

    DOJ has to do it by the book and Biden should never reference or talk about the investigations nor should anyone else in the adminstration.

    Exactly let the Senate and the House say.......you know what - Just investigate it all and let the DOJ handle it........the GOP won't like that but they can't blame partisanship over how it is handled - it would be strictly a police investigation - the Dems can win that war of words with the TRUST the POLICE mantra - flip it.

    Both can be done. Impeachment isn't a criminal process and the penalty of impeachment isn't criminal. The Founders made clear that impeachments isn't a substitute for the law enforcement and that a person could be impeached, removed from office and still criminally charged.

    Also neither criminal charges or impeachment stops civil cases.

    I think both should be done, if the Senate would have done their job on the Ukraine call he should have been impeached - or on the Mueller report which should massive malfeasance and had many arrested from his inner circle.

    People can hide behind things but the TRUTH is that Trump is as dirty as they come - and should have been impeached - basically the GOP created their own James Harden situation......it is their fault and they will suffer the consequences for their inaction.

    DOJ doesn't have any formal involvement in impeachment. I suppose the house mgrs and senate can refer matters to the FBI for further investigation.

    His lawyer already said weeks ago that he went to the Capitol following Trump's words. For all of those looking for a pardon such as the realtor from Ft Worth while they technically haven't flipped on Trump their statements that acted following Trump's words are incriminating.
