I'm sure he's a good guy... But the dude has been coaching since 1978 has never been a head coach at any level! I realize that race could have limited opportunities earlier in his career, but I haven't seen this dude's name linked to any other head job, in a time where teams are looking to hire black coaches! Feels like they went after a nice guy that won't challenge Jack or Cal at all!
I didn’t recognize the name. I’ll see if it’s maybe still in my browser history. I guess someone must have called him out on it pretty fast because it wasn’t up for long!
What is it that he knows? What's his offensive or defensive philosophy that we could garner from his time as an OC or DC?
When you put it that way it doesn't seem too bad, BUT with all the options that were out there, surely there were candidates that had more to bring to the table than motivation. And by the way, the over-rah rah coach routine gets old really fast for the players. Think Mike Singletary, at a certain point the players just start rolling their eyes.
Welllll, the inference here is that if they can get this team (Watson) to share in Culley's joy (Watson) and enthusiasm (Watson) then the wins will come.
Lurie and Howie Roseman (how has he still hung on through multiple HCs?) wanted an easily controllable patsy. Sounds familiar.
We have seen 1 & 3 before. I will go with 2, I don’t think we have ever had a coach with the early stages of Alzheimer’s before.
Tough situation for Culley. This is the guy Pablo Escobar gives the tape player to 'record' a conversation in the plane. easterby, I mean Escobar: "Just press record. Make sure everyone is in their seats so that you can get clear audio" =(
Wow... it’s like they grabbed the Uber Eats driver and told him he is the Eagles head coach and shoved him into a press conference.
Reminds me of whenever we get a new hire that's never been a consultant before and they try to get themselves out of a jam during a client call.
