I feel kinda like MacBeth and his floating "top ten movies"... my favorites change, if you have to make a "top five" or "top ten". Today? Jimi Hendrix Frank Zappa Keith Richards Carlos Santana Robert Fripp
I could go on for hours in this catagory...so Ill try to limit mine to the greats that everyone else isnt already mentioning... Randy Rhoads Eddie VH Slash Criss Oliva Nuno Bettencourt Joe Satriani George Lynch Eric Johnson John Petrucci Chris DeGarmo Carlos Sanatana Gary Moore It goes without saying that the following list would be in common on any rockfans list, soI tried to add a few listed above that wouldnt get mentioned amongst the legends. Page Clapton Gilmore Blackmore Hendrix SRV
I haven't heard many Cream songs, so I got to ask, is Clapton really that good? I always hear people saying how good he is, but thats all, just hearsay. I suppose you can't really tell from his new stuff. If he is, which songs/albums should I check out, that display his prowess? Also a side not: my friend watched the Page and Plant tour a few years back (well quite some time ago now), and he said the drugs have taken its toll on Page, his playing is nowhere close to where it used to be, and seeing him in interviews is painful. He looks almost dim-witted and slurred his speech, hard to believe this guy was the mastermind and brains behind Led Zep.
Jimi Hendrix Bill Frisell Johnny Guitar Watson Curtis Mayfield John Frusciante Tommy Iommi Ted Nugent CCR puuh, there are too many
Jimi Hendrix David Gilmore Carlos Santana Eric Clapton Eddie Van Halen Jeff Buckley I am sure I have forgotton a couple of others......
