They have an infestation of Westbrook fans who are making excuses for how terrible at basketball he is, but most Wizards fans I've seen have already turned on Westbrook AND Brooks, they want both of them gone.

It's such a joy to watch him be somebody else's problem.

I'm still shocked we were able to trade him without giving up assets.

I think a big part of it was the perception that Russ was healthy and Wall might not be. Hasn't worked out that way.

Any team looking for an NBA head coach should have this as their first interview question:

"Have you ever had Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and James Harden together and failed to get more than one NBA Finals trip out of them?"

    The next question:

"Have you ever had Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook together and failed to get more than one NBA Finals trip out of them?"

If you answered "yes" to both questions, congrats, you are Scotty Brooks and should never be an NBA head coach.

brooks has been the coach since 2016! i somehow had no idea he had been there that long. in my mind this was like year 2 or maybe 3. how have they hung on to this dude for so long (other than him being a rockets legend)? what's the upside to hiring a guy like brooks in the first place? i'm not saying everything in okc was his fault and i wouldn't say he never accomplished anything (coming back from 0-2 in the WCF against pop, even just getting up 3-1 on the 73 win warriors right after beating the 67 win spurs is pretty amazing), but it seemed pretty clear he wasn't bringing anything innovative to the table in okc. no offensive creativity or amazing offensive results. like he may not completely screw up a situation where you have some stars, but did he seem like he was going to elevate you? just seems weird to hire someone like that unless you already have the stars and just want to hire someone who's been there, done that.

Think about it, that dude just made like 400k for 30 minutes work and that is the end of his shift, Pay me league minimum and I'll be elated to play for the Washington Generals.

Russell Westbrook lacks any ability to understand basic logic.

If they were healthy they still sucked. When he plays they’re worse. Learn basketball

To be fair, Wall has already missed more games than Russ.

Wall and Russ have both played in 9 games. Many of the games Russ didn't play in were covid cancelled, but he wouldn't have played in them anyway due to his quad injury.

Wizards fan who hated the trade when it happened, most of thought Westbrook would be at least a floor raiser for us to be a top 10 team in the East.

Nobody likes him on RealGM anymore. On Reddit, there’s still some fans who think he’s not healthy, or that Covid has long term effects. People are coping hard.

I’m at the point where I find myself thinking that Westbrook is having a good game even if he’s 4/12 with 4 turnovers. The bar keeps getting lower and lower. I’ve been telling some friends that Westbrook looks great recently since he got to the rim a few times.
