They built that team to compete in 2010 ... Different era... You need shooting from someone other than the 7th man (although those fade away 3 PT shots Redick hoists up are terrible).... Lonzo needs to go to the Clippers or GSW... But overall , Van Gundyneeds to never work as a HC again.. He's awful at putting a team together...

Balls shot has improved at least... but what will it cost to get him?

obviously not for the rockets but other teams...

we are so guard heavy... these two pieces plus obviously Beal...may set a market for an Oladipo trade price?

It was better last year, but so far this year his 3PT% is the worst of his career.

How is lonzo an NBA players. He is shooting under 40%. Can't really dribble or finish or hit fts.

He is a good defender. His 3pt shot has regressed this season, not sure if it's just a slum or what. He improved his shot every year in his first three year with increased volume.

The Pelicans are running everything through two guys that are ultimately clueless (Ingram and Zion)...... there is nothing going on in that backcourt.

I thought Ball showed improvement last year defensively and shooting the ball....... but he has just been awful....... and the one guy that has been worse has been Reddick.

Reddick may still get the Pelicans something...... but Ball, I don't see it.

Let's just hope the Rockets stay away.

As others have pointed out, Lonzo is simply not good. He is a good defender and a very good passer in transition. Problem is, hes not a good ball handler. Below average shooter. Poor penetrator. Poor scorer/finisher and a poor free throw shooter. In other words a bad player.

Last season to his credit, Lonzo shot 37% from 3 on high volume (6.3 attempts per game). There are reasons why this number should be treated with skepticism. Lonzo is currently 29% on 80+ attempts this season. He was 31% on 500+ attempts in 2017-19. Even more concerning is his terrbile free throw %. Its sub 50% for his career. He's improved the last two season to 56% and 58%. But that's still terrible for a guard. There aren't many terrible ft shooter who are good 3pt scorers. Will Lonzo be an exception like Bruce Bowen was? Or will he likely be a poor to average 3 pt shooter?

It'll be interesting what contract he will get this summer. His QO is something like 13 million. Markelle Fultz got 3/50 million extension so anything is possible. If Lonzo develops a decent/good 3 pt shot he would be worth at least that... I just wouldn't count on it.

In the off chance that Rockets would be even remotely interested in acquiring Ball, what do y'all think his worth is? Who/what would we be willing to trade for him?

    OKC might be interested.

Ball last year would def have a lot of suitors, 37% 3 pt shooter that has good defense he seemed tailor made for Zion. This year he has just been bad and I dunno why he regressed so much.

Tbh lots of players are playing like crap just look at Miami, Atlanta and of course our own PJ Tucker. Maybe its just result of not having an offseason these players didnt get time to have a good summer camp and work on their game. Cuz they had a month to relax and then its back to work immediately.
