Oh cool. So if I commit a crime, it’s revenge to put me on trial. Thank you for clarifying!

    I will say it again..

History will record that on Jan. 6, 2021 a defeated President had a rally demanding to overturn the election and where he told his supporters to "Fight like Hell!" Immediately following that rally his supporters assaulted the US Capitol and threatened to kill the Vice President. History has recorded that the House impeached him and will record whether the Senate did anything about it.

It does bring my spirits down that some individuals are making this **** about politics. It makes zero sense to defend what Trump did if you are a true American. I get that his supporters will do mental gymnastics to deflect blame but how could our elected officials be so concerned about his voter base that they are willing to let him off the hook. White privilege I tell you what.

Biden says there won't be 17 retrumplican votes.

But, a trial will still draw a lot of coverage. If the evidence is clear and they don't, it will be a campaign issue. They can't run on law and order without rebuttal. They can't run as representing their constituency over party with rebuttal. They can be labeled as complicit in campaign ads with video of the crazies rampaging inside the Capitol.

Imagine if the situation had been that instead of Trump it was a Democrat President and those that invaded the Capitol were carrying BLM and Antifa banners. I doubt the Republicans would be saying things like "we need to move on"...

This is typical Trump/Republican BS in a nutshell. It's head shaking and extremely disturbing that they have lost all sense of duty to our country in ensuring we do not allow any President to abuse his power and incite hate towards an opponent or party through outright lies and propaganda. The ties to extremist groups is even more disturbing. They have woken and gathered some of the most racist, radical, and dangerous gun toting followers for a reason. Peaceful protests were not what Trump wanted. He egged them on, gave them a fake mission, and charged his toy soldiers to storm the Capitol.

It's beyond belief that one single person can shrug this off as something to let go, and move on. What does that say to Americans? I think it speaks loud and clear that they believe they have the right to act like some evil Dictator and do or say anything they want to keep their power. They have sooooooo much blood on their hands already.

To throw out the bible quotes is the most hypocritical thing they do. They act like they are fine upstanding law and order Christians, but will sit back and watch people die if it means loyalty to their party. What a horrible party the GOP had become. Money hungry, power hungry devils in disguise.

Follow the impeachment removal vote, if that vote fails, with a DoJ referral vote for Trump's inciting an insurrection.

If a political remedy fails, fall back on a legal remedy.

I think that the truth is the Rs want Trump barred from federal elections way more than the Ds.

The Ds want Trump in jail, where he can run for POTUS in 2024 from a jail cell.

FEC filing: 'MAGA Patriot Party' incorporates in Texas

Hey GOP, do you want Trump to run as a third party candidate in 2024? Because his narcissism will tell him to run.... if it's legal

Nothing short of barring Trump from running for a federal office will stop Trump from running in 2024.

In 2024, Trump will blame all of his failures on the Obama and Biden. Trump will claim every Biden success as his own. All naysayers will just be Fake News. 74 million voters will come back home and vote for Trump.

That's very true since January 6th so many Trump supporters were still crying about the violence and looting that had happened over the summer.

Republicans were always going to do this, they went from MAGA terrorists roaming the halls killing cops with fire extinguishers and trying to hang the VP to parroting the same Trumpist nonsense hours later while custodial workers cleared feces off the Capitol walls.

    They are irredeemable.

trump should spend the rest of his life in jail, if not suffer more severe consequences...we are talking treason and sedition here.

but the best thing politically for the dems would be to not proceed with the senate trial. nobody wants trump convicted more than mcconnell and any would-be 2024 candidates. why do them any favors? not convicting leaves trump and his toxicity out there hanging over the GOP through the next election cycle. if you want to the see the GOP destroyed from within then leaving the door open for a trump 2024 run is the best way to do that.

also, it doesnt look like they are going to get the 17 republicans necessary to convict and when it fails it will just make the dems look weak and embolden trump and his brainless, treasonous cult members.

the worms like cruz and hawley want trump out of the way, but at the same time they pretend to support him so that when they run they can stay on the good side of the cult members. convicting trump would be the best thing you can do for those twats.

Remember, there are still criminal and civil charges pending.

So the guy that rented the plane to fly over Del Boca Vista, why? What does he think his expenditure accomplished?
